The slide cancel is a movement technique that loads of Call of Duty players use in every match, but will this move return in MW2 and Warzone 2.0?
While aim is the most important skill that any Call of Duty player can have, good movement is also integral if you want to succeed.
Since Modern Warfare (2019), the slide cancel has been the most powerful movement technique for any Call of Duty player. By stopping your slide midway through, it lets you chain together multiple Tactical Sprints quickly, helping you get across the map faster and also making you harder to hit.
But is the slide cancel coming to the 2022 Call of Duty titles, MW2 and Warzone 2.0?

Is There Slide Canceling in Modern Warfare 2 & Warzone 2?
You can slide cancel in Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 but it is not very effective. This is because you cannot slide cancel after Tactical Sprinting.
If you try to slide cancel after Tactical Sprinting, you will dive instead, according to the Call of Duty Blog. Meanwhile, if you jump or crouch while sliding after a regular sprint in MW2 and Warzone 2.0, you can still slide cancel, but it is not very effective.
UPDATE: A new trick has already been discovered that re-enables the slide cancel in MW2!
This is because, without the Tactical Sprint element of a slide cancel, you will be much faster if you are just Tac Sprinting instead.
It might be for the best that this technique has gotten a massive nerf, though. Slide canceling would look especially strange in the new MW2 third-person POV game modes.
Additionally, is a welcome change for many players who feel like slide canceling is unrealistic or think it is too powerful.

However, there is also a vocal group of fans who are unhappy with Infinity Ward’s decision to nerf it. Pro players in particular liked slide canceling as it is a difficult technique to master and increases the skill gap.
While the nerf of the slide cancel is a controversial topic, there’s something that has Warzone fans even more divided. Warzone 2.0 has removed Loadout Drops from the game!
On the other hand, there have been some very welcome additions to the battle royale title. Here’s how to use the new Warzone 2.0 proximity chat feature.
