Yesterday, we reported a new Modern Warfare 2 listing on the official Australian Classification Board. Now, it appears as though a new listing for MW2 Remastered has surfaced online.
Modern Warfare 2 Remastered seems all but confirmed, or at least to be in development – courtesy of a new listing on TrueAchievements. It’s unclear as to whether this title was added to the website deliberately, or whether they’ve jumped the gun a little early. Additionally, there’s no word as to when this implemented, but we’d assume as of very recently.
Either way, this does provide even more reason to believe that the title is on the horizon. To be clear, the listing only mentions ‘Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 Campaign Remastered’. Other rumors and leaks prior to this did suggest that this would be the case, however.
For those asking, the website hasn’t leaked achievements for the game. Those usually surface merely a few weeks prior to the launch of the game.
It’s unclear as to when we can expect to see MW2 Remastered revealed. Infinity Ward has confirmed that they will be hosting their own panel at E3 2019. However, we’ve heard that will have a heavy emphasis on the MW campaign, in particular, the two missions showcased to the press at IW’s headquarters last week.
This isn’t the first time we’ve seen listings similar to these surface. In fact, as of recently, we’ve seen a plethora arrive. From PEGI and ESRB ratings, then to Australian Classification Board, and now to achievement websites.
Gaming INTEL is not completely sold on the rumors of MW2 Remastered accompanying the launch of Modern Warfare later this year. That said, it certainly wouldn’t come as much of a surprise if it does launch.
Assuming a remaster of MW2’s campaign does release later this year, it should give fans and players a better idea of the storyline for Modern Warfare. There have also previously been reports of MW3 Remastered launching alongside MW2. There’s a fair chance that won’t be the case, however.
