Back in February 2019, a new leak surfaced suggesting that MW3 and MW2 Remastered would be coming alongside MW4. Additional information has since arisen indicating that Modern Warfare 2 Remastered is all but confirmed.
MW2 Remastered PS4 Leaked via Europe (PEGI) Ratings Board
Ever since multiple sources claimed that MW2 Remastered would be coming with a major catch, back in March 2018, its release has been merely discussions, with the exception of the odd leak or rumor every now and then.
A new Europe (PEGI) Rating may have practically confirmed that MW2 Remastered will be coming, as a Campaign only release. Furthermore, it appears as though the game arriving without Multiplayer wasn’t the only major catch.
According to the Europe Ratings Board, ‘Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Campaign Remastered’ will be releasing on PlayStation 4. That’s right, its expected release on Xbox One and PC made no appearance.
While this may be much to the displeasure of an array of players, there’s still a good chance that the game will launch at some point on Xbox One.
In contrary, considering MW2 was made compatible with Xbox One back in August, there’s also a chance that it won’t be arriving on the console. Activision also has an exclusivity partnership with Sony. However, that much exclusivity seems like too far of a stretch.
The post has since been taken down, which suggests posting the rating was a mistake on their behalf. Nonetheless, while thousands have already seen it, taking it down won’t hide much.
Is Multiplayer coming to MW2 Remastered?
It’s important to take note that MW2 Remastered might not be Campaign only for the entirety of its release. In fact, in addition to recent leaks which suggest Multiplayer will arrive six months after its launch, information from previous titles may provide a rough estimate of what to expect.
Many of you may remember when MWR dropped alongside Infinite Warfare, it was initially campaign only for 30 days. Hopefully, Infinity Ward will follow suit this year.
Thus far, official details of MW2 Remastered haven’t been revealed by either Infinity Ward or Activision. While Black Ops 4, the latest installment within the franchise, was announced back in March, it’s likely that details are just around the corner.
As additional details are released, we’ll be the first to share. Stay tuned.
