CoD 2019 Won't Be Call of Duty Ghosts 2

New Year’s Day of 2019 is now officially upon us, which can only mean one thing; the next addition to the Call of Duty franchise (CoD 2019) is scheduled to release this year. There hasn’t yet been any official confirmation as to what the upcoming CoD 2019 title will in fact be. Although, if a recent report is anything to go by, the possibilities may have been narrowed down – with Call of Duty Ghosts 2 off the cards.

NEW INTEL: Call of Duty 2019 (Potentially MW4) Teased by Infinity Ward

CoD 2019 Won’t Be Call of Duty Ghosts 2 – Report

Throughout the past few weeks, numerous reports have arisen – potentially writing off any fan predictions. The biggest of which appears to be surfacing on from Kotaku’s Jason Schreier.

In a recent reply to the post, he claims that the next installment within the franchise won’t be Call of Duty Ghosts 2. As a result, many prior theories and rumors were debunked.

This post, in particular, has begun due to Infinity Ward’s Communications Manager, Ashton Williams, teasing several images on her Twitter. Originally, the images appeared to feature connotations to one of Infinity Ward’s most recent Call of Duty titles, Ghosts. And, of course, if Schreier’s comment is anything to go by, that isn’t the case.

Since the initial launch of Ghosts, back in November of 2013, the game has received some diverse opinions from the community. Many of which delighted with the game, some not so happy. From a marketing perspective, if the upcoming game isn’t a sequel to Ghosts, that may not be such a bad idea.

What Will Call of Duty 2019 Be Titled? | Prediction

With Call of Duty Ghosts 2 most likely ruled out, many will be asking the question: What will CoD 2019 be titled? So far, it appears that we’re left with two alternatives.

With the severe backlash from fans we certainly can’t imagine Infinity Ward releasing a sequel to their latest Call of Duty installment, Infinite Warfare. So, that pretty much leaves us with two possibilities – either MW4 or an entirely different entry to the series.

Exclusive information Gaming INTEL has received in the past still suggests that Call of Duty 2019 will be titled Modern Warfare 4. Therefore, in turn, the Call of Duty Ghosts 2 debunked report may not come as much of a surprise to fans.

There is no official confirmation as to when Call of Duty 2019 (CoD 2019) will be revealed. Typically speaking, upcoming additions to the franchise are often announced in March, with a reveal following suit in May. Although, Infinity Ward could easily have a change of plan this year. Stay tuned…
