A fourth zombies map for Call of Duty Black Ops 4 has been rumored by many YouTubers, which matches up with information received from Gaming INTEL’s own sources.
The most credible information regarding a fourth zombies map comes from the youtuber CodeNamePizza. During a stream on the 23rd of May, he mentioned that he got a little bit of information about one release map, but he didn’t know if he was allowed to say it, which heavily implies it was a release map that hadn’t been announced yet.
He goes on to mention that the map in question would be another returning map, but much like Blood of the Dead, it would be a remake and not a remaster. That is to say, elements of the story and the map layout itself will be changed from the original.
The current prevailing theory is that the new map in question will be a remake of Nuketown Zombies, a map which hasn’t been seen in the Black Ops franchise since Black Ops 2 released. Though it may seem unlikely, there is some evidence to back this claim up.
First and foremost is an official calendar which was released before Black Ops 3. This officially licensed piece of merchandise featured the Nuketown zombies map, with some art that had never before been seen.
The second piece of evidence comes in the form of a comic book styled piece of art that can be found in the first edition of the Zombies comic series published by Dark Horse. This style of artwork is synonymous with loading screens in the Call of Duty Zombies game mode, and so far each of the loading screens from the comics has been remastered in Zombies Chronicles, with the exception of Nuketown.
If this fourth Nuketown Zombies map were to be released in Black Ops 4 then it would likely follow the path of the original, that is to say it would likely be only available with the Digital Deluxe version of the game. When Nuketown Zombies came to Black Ops 2 only players who bought the Hardened, Care Package or Digital Deluxe versions of the could download the map. Eventually, it was opened for purchase the following year.
With two different digital deluxe versions coming to Black Ops 4 it is not beyond the realm of belief to expect Nuketown Zombies to be released as a purchase incentive alongside one of them. With more Zombies information set to come at Comicon in July it won’t be long until we finally get confirmation on the fourth Zombies map in Black Ops 4.
