REPORT: Black Ops 4 Is Call of Duty 2018 and Will Be Coming to Nintendo Switch

A recent rumour suggests that Call of Duty 2018 will be named Black Ops 4. The upcoming instalment in the COD Series will be being developed by Treyarch due to it being their turn next. The report seems to have surfaced via twitter user Marcus Sellars, in which he states “COD 2018 is Black Ops 4 and is coming to PS4, Xbox One, PC and Nintendo Switch.”

“COD 2018 is Black Ops 4 and is coming to PS4/Xbox/PC/Switch. It is set in the modern times and is boots on the ground. The Switch version will support DLC, HD Rumble and motion controls. The Switch version is also being ported by a company which is familar with COD games.”

Normally, we’d take this information with a pinch of salt considering there has been no official announcement. However, we’ve noticed a good reputation with Marcus and previous leaks being true. In the past he’s predicted Dark Souls and Labo coming to the Nintendo Switch and has later become true. Marcus claims to be working for many Nintendo sites but he does not, however, offer any indication of where this rumor originates.

According to his tweet, “the Nintendo Switch version is also being ported by a company which is familar with COD games.” One company which are familiar with both previous Nintendo systems and Call of Duty titles, is Beenox. The Beenox Team have previously brought Skylanders and Amazing Spider-Man to Wii and Wii U. They’ve also had involvement in Treyarch’s latest title, Black Ops 3 and Modern Warfare Remastered. As well as having experience in previous Nintendo and Call of Duty games, not long ago they posted a tweet hinting at an upcoming Switch port.

With no official announcement by Treyarch it shall be very interesting to see what lies ahead in Black Ops 4 / Call of Duty 2018. We’ve recently had confirmation from EA that the Battlefield 2018 Release Date will be taking place in October. With that being said, it’ll be another tough year for CoD to keep up with their major competitors. If this rumour does end up being true then we should expect Black Ops 4 to be set in modern times and it will be boots on the ground.
