With nearly two days to go, the launch of Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 will shortly be upon us. With that said, the file size and pre-load times for PS4, Xbox One and PC have been announced via Treyarch on an official post on the subreddit.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 Pre-Load Times
- PS4 will start at 12AM local time on Oct. 10
- Xbox One will start at 12AM local time on Oct. 10
- PC pre-loading is now live
So, if you’re up late tomorrow night, we certainly recommend that you spend a spare few minutes to start the download, especially if you’re planning to play the game as soon as it launches.
Furthermore, the game will be available to collect from select retailers worldwide at 6PM local time on October 11th. This meaning that those who’ve pre-ordered a physical copy of the game will have the opportunity to pre-load at the same time as those who’ve pre-purchased digitally. In addition, if you’ve bought a copy from Amazon in Europe it’s expected to arrive on Oct 11.
The official pre-load times were not the only pieces of additional information mentioned in the post. Treyarch also revealed the approximate file size for Black Ops 4.
“Download will be approximately 55 GB, and it will allow us to pack as much as we can into the game.”
According to Activision Support, 112 GB of free hard drive space is the amount required to complete the installation process. However, this is not the actual size of the download.
Also, Blackout will be fully playable once the download reaches about 30% completion (16-20 GB depending on platform). However, those looking to play Multiplayer, Zombies, and Specialist Headquarters will have to wait until the full download is 100% completed.
Treyarch are also planning to participate in some special launch-timed livestreams. Stay tuned for additional details.
