Call of Duty Black Ops 4 Release Date – CoD 2018

Call of Duty Black Ops 4 Release Date

Will 2018 be the year for Call of Duty? With Call of Duty: WWII losing momentum, the CoD community turns their attention towards Treyarch. This is the development studio who seems to save the day in the CoD realm every 3 years their turn to release a CoD title arrives. After record digital sales for WWII, will Treyarch be able to meet the demands. Since Treyarch is notorious for their Black Ops game series, many rumors are pointing to this year’s game to be Call of Duty: Black Ops IV. Modern times is the rumored setting for Call of Duty 2018. Being a strong follower of the Black Ops series, I too, believe that it only makes sense to stick to the popular name.

Black Ops 4 Release Date

We can’t be sure that Black Ops 4 will be the officially name, but we can be quite sure of the CoD 2018 release date. The first friday of November seems to be a solid trend for Activision choosing their CoD release dates. This year that falls on:

November 2nd, 2018

UPDATE (March 9th, 2018): Black Ops 4 Release Date CONFIRMED as Friday October 12th, 2018. Community Reveal Event May 17th, 2018.

Treyarch has posted a few times on their Twitter account, @Treyarch, how excited they are for the year and that they can’t wait to announce more moving forward. The exact tweet reads:

Looking forward to the year ahead… we can’t wait to share more!

Aside from the Call of Duty title in general; the community has grown keener to the story lines, the multiplayer mode, and the zombie’s mode. Black Ops has been known to go all out for the zombie’s gameplay, for instance when the Zombie Chronicles DLC was released. In addition to boost jumping, Zombie Chronicles included older maps such as Kino der Toten. Reddit user named XCodBo42018X submitted a post that highlighted the zombie’s game mode in the new Call of Duty. The user also included some very enticing quotes that were said by Jason Blundell, the Senior Executive Producer at Treyarch. Blundell stated the following:

I think going into the future there will be new stuff that will challenge the zombies community in one way. I think and hope that we built up enough trust with the community… I do know that it’s very exciting and different and I hope people will go into what’s next, look back and say good decisions were made.

I, for one, am excited that it is Treyarch’s turn to release the Call of Duty 2018 title. I’m sure many people are too and cannot wait. Whilst there haven’t been many reliable leaks yet, beginning from March we expect a lot to come out.

  1. Call of Duty XXV would not be out of the realm of possibility making it a milestone release.

Pulling from a kotaku article from 2012.

“There’s a muddy line between many of the spin-offs as to whether they count as all-new titles or as elaborate ports, but by my reckoning – and this is taking each individual release that’s not a direct port as a standalone game – there have been nineteen Call of Duty games released.” (Luke Plunkett)
