The Alpha for Call of Duty: Vanguard may already be leaking as COD 2021 updates itself to Slipstream on Battle.net.
It’s around about the time of year that we start hearing about the future of the Call of Duty franchise, and it seems this year is no exception. In case you haven’t heard, it looks as though COD 2021 is going to be Call of Duty Vanguard.
The upcoming title is leaked to be set in WW2 once again, developed by Sledgehammer Games. And, rumor has it that Activision is pulling in all of its development teams to ensure that Vanguard is ready to launch in 2021.
While one insider is already claiming that Vanguard is a disaster, we imagine the launch will at least be on par with Cold War. And with Call of Duty’s next few years including Modern Warfare 2 Black Ops 2, and a standalone Zombies game, 2022 onwards looks very promising.
Now, the Call of Duty: Vanguard Alpha looks to be leaking early.
Call of Duty Vanguard’s Alpha Leaks – Slipstream
It seems as though Slipstream will be the codename for Call of Duty: Vanguard’s Alpha testing period.
A few hours ago, Call of Duty insider Tom Henderson tweeted out that COD 2021 has changed on Battle.net. Now known as Call of Duty: Slipstream the game even has its own logo to match the name change.
Fans who were following the franchise last year may remember something similar occurring. On the Windows store, fans found a Call of Duty title known as The Red Door.
Interestingly, The Red Door turned out to be an internal Closed Alpha for Black Ops Cold War. And because of this, many fans believe that Vanguard’s Alpha is gearing up for some internal testing of its own.
Last year we got some early footage leak for Cold War, and it’s entirely possible that the same will happen once again. But what’s also interesting is the implications of the name Slipstream itself.
After all, The Red Door ended up being a pretty big part of the Black Ops Cold War storyline. Could Slipstream refer to something major in Vanguard’s narrative as well?
Recently, we got a leak revealing that Vanguard’s WW2 Warzone map will be significantly larger than Verdansk. It looks like an emphasis on vehicles may be coming to the battle royale.
What’s more, it seems that Treyarch may be already assisting on the Vanguard Zombies mode. But what does that mean for the remainder of the Black Ops Cold War Zombies experience?
With many fans still believing that Black Ops Cold War is a downgrade from Modern Warfare, we wonder how Vanguard will look by comparison!
