Blizzard Confirms Diablo 4 Changes After Open Beta – Dungeons, Classes, & More

Blizzard is using feedback to deliver a near perfect Sanctuary for Diablo 4 Demon Hunters.

The Diablo 4 beta was a huge success, with over 62 million hours played by the community, but the beta did not end without fans pointing out its faults and needed changes.

Throughout the course of the beta, players faced issues with intrusively long queue times and even some balancing issues with some of the classes.

Thankfully, Blizzard took all the criticism from the players and developed a plan to tackle these issues before Diablo 4’s official release.

Diablo 4 Beta Prompts Blizzard to Make Changes Based on Feedback

Blizzard confirmed it has taken feedback received during the Diablo 4 Open Beta into account and implemented changes for dungeons, class adjustments, and other quality of life improvements.

These updates will be present when the game launches on June 6 and include the following changes:

Dungeon Feedback & Changes

  • Dungeon Layouts
    • Feedback – Players felt that they were constantly backtracking within certain dungeons.
    • Fix – Diablo 4 has optimized the layout of various dungeons to minimize the need for backtracking.
    • Example of Fix
      • Problem: Some dungeons required players to enter side rooms to activate certain structures. Once activated, they would need to return back to the main room by backtracking.
      • Solution: Now the structures to activate are along the main path. This reduces the need for any backtracking from the player.
  • Dungeon Events
    • Fix – Blizzard has increased the chance of an Event spawning in a dungeon from 10% to 60%.
      • This will offer players more variety when exploring the many dungeons around Sanctuary.
  • Dungeon Gameplay
    • Feedback – Players felt that completing each Objective in a dungeon would often feel tedious.
    • Fixes
      • Structure Objectives now have additional combat mechanics players must overcome.
      • While carrying certain Objective items, players will receive a variety of bonuses.
      • As part of the changes, every door in Diablo 4’s dungeons will generate a mini-map when opened.
      • Straggling monsters will seek out the player in “Kill Them All” Objectives.
      • All Rescue objectives now drop a Health Potion upon completion.
      • Time to Rescue was reduced from 3 to 1.5 seconds.
      • When players return a Portable Object to its Pedestal they will fully restore Health, Resource, Potions, and reset cooldowns for themselves and all nearby players.
