New evidence suggests that one of Black Ops Cold War's upcoming Zombies DLCs may be a remake of Kino Der Toten.
Black Ops Cold War released to incredible success earlier this month, but it's clear that the game is lacking content. However, it appears that Treyarch may have big plans for the title, as new evidence suggests that a Kino Der Toten remake may be coming to Cold War's Zombies mode.
Kino Der Toten (AKA) Cinema of the Dead, was a Black Ops Zombies map, featured in the first and third installment of the franchise. The iconic location was the initial Black Ops Zombies map, and it has long been a fan-favorite.
Now, new evidence suggests that Black Ops Cold War could be getting a remake of Kino Der Toten. The map will likely be remade for Zombies DLC, just like Nacht Der Untoten was in Die Maschine.
If this proves correct, parts of the original cinema will be present, alongside a new Berlin area to explore.
Evidence of a Black Ops Cold War Kino Der Toten Remake
This Kino Der Toten remake theory isn't coming from guesswork alone. In fact, there is a fair amount of evidence that appears to support the map returning in Cold War.
Of course, none of this should be taken as fact just yet, no matter how likely it seems. And this won't be coming soon either, as the next Black Ops Cold War map is set in Vietnam.
Despite major leaks for Black Ops Cold War Season 1, we still don't know much about what's coming to Zombies. But this new evidence does help shed light on the series' potential DLC.
Firstly, in the intro cutscene for Die Maschine, Weaver is looking at a series of monitors containing locations of Anomalies. These locations are all potential Zombies map locales, but the Berlin screen is also visible in the Create a Class section of the Zombies menu.
Berlin also comes into play again in the Die Maschine intro, where Samantha Maxis makes a call in the German capital.
On the Berlin monitor, a red dot periodically displays, which leads to the location of Kino Der Toten's setting. We can even see some of the same landmarks in the dot's real-life location visible in the original Kino Der Toten map.
Is Verrückt Coming to Black Ops Cold War Too?
What's more, recent audio in Black Ops Cold War game files contains a clip of the 115 Easter egg song.
Long-time fans will recognize this track as being originally part of Kino Der Toten. It also plays Lullaby Of A Dead Man - the Easter egg song of fellow Berlin map 'Verrückt.'
Given that Treyarch is reusing old locations in its Cold War Zombies content, it's possible that both Kino Der Toten and Verrückt may be part of the new map.
This new evidence was discovered by YouTuber TheGamingRevolution. The Black Ops Zombies fan also believes he's got evidence for further DLC locations, seen in the video below:
With players already setting world records for Die Maschine, it's clear that we need more Zombies content desperately. But despite the game's map having been played to death, a lot of gamers still don't know about Cold War Zombies' hidden jumpscare.
