Black Ops Cold War Season 5 is just around the corner, and we already know what maps are coming to the game.
One of the most exciting parts of a new Black Ops Cold War update is learning which new maps are coming to the game. In an FPS title, new maps and weapons are the lifeblood of new updates.
After all, it’s important to keep a game feeling fresh after months of play. And with Black Ops Cold War launching without much content, Treyarch has been working hard to build up the map roster over time.
At the start of the game’s lifespan, we heard that lots of old map remakes were in the works for Black Ops Cold War. And that’s certainly been the case.
Now it looks as though we’re getting 2 new Black Ops map remasters with Season 5, and one entirely new map – judging by a recent leak.
And for Battle Royale fans, Warzone Season 5 may finally get that next-gen upgrade!
All New Maps & Remakes Leaked for Black Ops Cold War Season 5
Black Ops Cold War Season 5 is only a matter of days away, and we may already know the game’s upcoming maps.
According to a new leak by various Call of Duty dataminers, it appears that Black Ops Cold War is getting 2 map remasters this time around.
Recently, TheGhostOfMW tweeted out: “Can we Drive in to the Slums”, causing a great deal of confusion on the user’s Twitter feed. Moments later, fellow leaker Nanikos revealed that the user was referring to a couple of classic Black Ops maps which will be coming to Cold War Season 5.
Drive-In and Slums Remakes in Black Ops Cold War Season 5
It appears that both Drive-In and Slums, from Black Ops 1 and 2 respectively, will be launch in Black Ops Cold War Season 5. It’s unusual for Treyarch to bring back 2 map remakes at once however, so perhaps the developer will space them out a little.
We can definitely see one map dropping at launch, with the other coming mid-season, as has been done in the past.
For those unaware, Drive-In is a small but popular multiplayer map from the original Call of Duty: Black Ops. After releasing in the Annihilation DLC pack, players compared the map to Nuketown in design.
Despite small alleys around the map, there are a few optimal spots for sniping, and the Drive-In arena is perfect for fast-paced combat engagements.
Slums is another small multiplayer map that has appeared in Black Ops 2, 3, and 4, as well as Call of Duty Mobile. In fact, Slums just arrived as part of CoD Mobile Season 6’s new update, so it’s a big month for the map.
Set in Panama, Slums offers heated combat on the main street, as well as a fountain sniper spot, and a few buildings to hide inside.
But there’s also a third map, Echelon, that Nanikos reports is coming soon.
Here’s everything we know about the new Black Ops Cold War map Echelon from past leaks!
Let’s hope this new update is everything fans were hoping for. After all, top streamers are quitting Call of Duty in large numbers already! Yesterday we finally got the new Black Ops Cold War and Warzone Season 5 trailer.
On top of that, one of the new Black Ops Cold War weapons is already here! And you won’t have to wait long until the Black Ops Cold War Season 5 release date to get your hands on the rest of them.
