Activision have been teasing Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War Season 2 for days – now we finally have confirmation.
A new cut-scene appeared in Call of Duty Warzone last week, apparently teasing the upcoming Warzone and Cold War Season 2 of the battle royale.
Players who’ve upgraded to the recent Warzone to the 1.31 patch will start seeing the trailer after starting battle royale games.
One it appeared; fans immediately began to speculate if this is what it meant, but it was unlikely to be anything else. Season 2 of Cold War was expected sooner or later.
By doing some detective work last month, we have a good idea of when Season 2 will arrive. But we are still waiting on confirmation from the devs or Activision themselves.
Treyarch has now confirmed that the mysterious cutscene is indeed a teaser trailer for Cold War Season 2. And we’re quite excited for the plot as well as the new content it will bring.
What Will Cold War Season 2 Bring?
Neither Activision nor Treyarch have told us many details about Season 2 yet, but we know the basic story beats thanks to a recent Tweet saying:
“Having barely escaped with their lives from the trap laid at “The Pines” Mall, Woods and the team discover that Adler has been taken prisoner. The story continues in Season Two. #BlackOpsColdWar.”
We won’t give away any spoilers, but the trailer reveals the outcome of Adler’s battle with Stitch from Season One.
Activision have said that Warzone will be their “top priority for long time” so expect the content to continue to roll out. And for integration with each annual Call of Duty release to be an important part of it.
For example, they already confirming that a new Call of Duty is coming in 2021.
Lots of fans are hoping for a Modern Warfare sequel, but at the same time wondering how this will affect the already limited lifespan of Cold War.
