Black Ops Cold War Season 1 New Weapons Revealed

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Season 1 will release later this month and Treyarch already two revealed new guns.

Players spotted the MAC-10 and the Groza in the Combat Record section of Barracks in Black Ops Cold War Multiplayer recently.

The new submachine gun and assault rifle are welcomed additions to the seemingly SMG and AR meta.

It's still unknown if Treyarch intended for these weapons to appear before Season 1 launched on December 16. However, now we have a clearer picture of what to expect.

Here is the patch that led to the early look at the two new guns in Black Ops Cold War.

New Weapons in Cold War Season 1

MAC-10

The MAC-10 is a Call of Duty staple.

The weapon originally launched with Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare in 2007 and has seen different variations in a handful of other games in the series.

The MAC-10 is bound to have similar performance to the Milano 821 submachine gun and the AK74u but should add variety when it comes to close-range gunfights in Season 1.

In Modern Warfare Remastered, the MAC-10 was a late game addition via DLC, but it sent waves through multiplayer.

In its last variation in the CoD franchise, the MAC-10 boasted a similar time to kill as the P90. This made the weapon widely used and loved.

In reality, this weapon really only outperformed other guns at super close distances, making this a map specific choice.

Groza

The Groza appears to be a mix between the FFAR and the QBZ assault rifles.

However, the gun also appears to mimic the classic FAMAS type of weapon from previous Call of Duty games.

The FAMAS in previous titles typically was a three-round-burst weapon. That is not yet confirmed for this weapon in Black Ops Cold War, but it is likely.

While the Groza does not have much history in the Call of Duty franchise, we do know a few things about the real-life version of the weapon.

It is Russian made and is built to follow the style of the AK74u, but with a longer barrel to increase bullet velocity and damage penetration.

The weapon is also present in PLAYERUNKNOWN's BATTLEGROUNDS, the well-known battle royale game. Soon, we imagine that it'll be coming to Cold War's new Warzone map, giving the gun a second battle royale appearance.

Thanks to a major Cold War Season 1 map leak, we also know what new areas are coming to the game. By all accounts, the incoming locations look incredible.

Hopefully, these new maps don't suffer from Black Ops Cold War's poor visibility issues. This is one of the biggest problems with the game so far, especially since changes to SBMM are on the way to Cold War.
