There's a new way to trigger Black Ops Cold War crashing, and it involves the game's Resupply Caches.
If you're running low on ammo in Black Ops Cold War, it might be best to use the Scavenger Perk to resupply from enemies.
This comes after players discovered a new Cold War Multiplayer bug that crashes games completely.
The new bug is far from the first time we've seen the popular FPS crash due to an issue. In fact, Black Ops Cold War's recent update is broken and crashing consoles by itself.
Thankfully, there's a way to avoid this crash for the time being.
Black Ops Cold War Crashing in Multiplayer
If your Black Ops Cold War is crashing in Multiplayer, you're not the only one encountering this issue. However, some users have noticed that crashes tend to correlate with Resupply Cache usage.
In a recent post to the Black Ops Cold War subreddit, one gamer shows their attempt at resupplying on Crossroads being met with an instantaneous crash.
Other commenters confirm that they've encountered similar issues. And it appears that the issue isn't just limited to Crossroads either.
"The resupply caches crash on every map at random, sometimes they work, sometimes they don't," claims Reddit user MrGiveGrief. "It flags up as UI error, slows the frame rate to a crawl and then just sits there allowing enemies to blast you while you can't control anything."
It seems that not all users actually get crashes when restocking, and some simply slow down to a crawl. And with an unresponsive menu, Cold War fans must hard reset their consoles to continue with the game.
This is on top of the common Black Ops Cold War crash on Xbox Series X consoles. Strangely, the game is one of the most buggy next-gen titles, and Black Ops Cold War has even been bricking Xbox consoles altogether.
But despite these issues, Cold War is still the best-selling game of 2020. With so much money pouring in, hopefully, Activision will be able to get a fix ready in the near future.
With today's Black Ops Cold War and Warzone update dropping shortly, perhaps the patch notes will reveal that bug fixes are on the way.
