Black Ops Cold War pros are labeling one gun as being too good, leading to a ban on the weapon in competitive play.
From time to time, a weapon will arise in FPS games that is just too good for competitive play. If it remains in the meta, teams will all end up using it, just like Warzone with the overpowered DMR.
To avoid this issue, pro players tend to exclude certain weapons from competitive play. Now, it looks like Black Ops Cold War players just made a major ban.
The latest GA (or Gentleman's Agreement) isn't strictly law in the Call of Duty League. However, a GA acts as an understanding that no professional player will use this weapon in tournament play.
Black Ops Cold War Pros Ban the AK-47
Due to the weapon being too powerful in Black Ops Cold War, pro players have decided to ban the AK-47. In the latest GA, Call of Duty League players are saying goodbye to the iconic assault rifle altogether.
After the AK-47 became too meta-defining, the professionals are making the call to let it go. Some players shared their views on the change, and so far, things seem positive.
Now that the AK-47 is out of the way, however, a new meta will arise. And with that new meta comes a new weapon that many will label as overpowered.
Right now, it's looking like the Krig 6 will be the gun of choice in the CDL, but there's still time for things to change. After the AK has been out of the game for a while, pro players will discover a new dominant weapon to build their squads around.
Even FaZe Alec (AKA Arcitys) took the time to bid farewell to the AK-47 in Black Ops Cold War.
Recently, we reported that the Call of Duty League's switch to PC is attracting hackers. Hopefully, Activision has got a handle on things as we head into the 2021 season.
Of course, just because the AK-47 is the best weapon in CDL, doesn't mean it's the top pick for all players. In fact, the best weapons in Black Ops Cold War Multiplayer are a little different from those that the pro players use.
On the other hand, in Warzone, it's a different story altogether. In the battle royale, even competitive players are smashing records with Warzone's DMR.
Thankfully, there's a new way to counter the DMR, Mac-10, and Diamatti Pistols in Warzone.
