Black Ops Cold War Players Report Negative COD Points Balance

Black Ops Cold War is finally here, and the game appears to leave many players in debt to Activision, with negative COD Points balances reported online.

Those looking to spend money in Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War will often need COD Points to do so. The premium currency can be used to purchase in-game cosmetic content and even gain access to a season’s Battle Pass.

However, Black Ops Cold War players are finding a major problem with their COD Points balances upon loading in. That is to say; they no longer have any.

More than that, though, many Cold War players are actually reporting negative COD Points balances. It appears that it’s possible to actually be in debt to Activision, in a hilarious new bug.

According to users online, opening Black Ops Cold War might lead to players losing COD Points. The new bug appears to be targetting those loading into the new game and leaves them with a negative balance overall.

Some players believe that the issue might stem from certain editions of Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War. A number of users report that the Ultimate Edition of Cold War may well be responsible for the unfortunate issue.

Right now, Black Ops Cold War players are finding it impossible to both buy and use COD Points. This is likely just a simple Day One issue, but it’s unclear how long it will take for the development team to fix.

For now, players should simply enjoy the game and not worry about cosmetics. However, Twitter users are already taking to Activision support to contest their negative COD Points balance.

Some players indicate that their balances aren’t negative but instead have decreased substantially. It appears that Black Ops Cold War’s negative COD Points bug steals around 3000 points from the player’s account.

Never fear, however. While Activision Support is yet to respond to the issue, rest assured that it will likely be fixed in no time.

Right now, there are a number of common Black Ops Cold War errors, meaning that the launch hasn’t been going as smoothly as you’d hope. If the game proves unplayable for you at present, you can always hop back into the battle royale, as Warzone runs better than ever on PS5.
