Black Ops Cold War’s OP Akimbo Magnums Need a Nerf

There’s a new OP weapon in Black Ops Cold War, and players are already calling for a nerf to the Akimbo Magnums.

Black Ops Cold War is no stranger to having an OP weapon or two in its roster. Whether it’s the AUG, Mac-10, or a sniper rifle, players will always find something to complain about.

But now there’s a new weapon that’s breaking the balance of the game – thanks to its ability to be dual-wielded. We’re referring, of course, to the Magnum.

One Magnum by itself isn’t an exceptionally powerful weapon. But once you’ve got it to max level, and unlocked the optimal attachments, it’s unstoppable at close range.

This isn’t the first issue with dual-wielding that Cold War has had either. After all, the dual Diamattis were completely overpowered in Warzone for a long time.

Black Ops Cold War Needs to Nerf Overpowered Akimbo Magnums

In a new post on the Black Ops Cold War subreddit, one fan asks Treyarch to nerf the game’s overpowered Akimbo Magnums.

This comes after the user encountered the weapon on multiple occasions in a recent game on Checkmate. Walking into his team’s point on Domination, the Cold War fan is immediately deleted by an enemy player.

The enemy Magnum user fired both weapons simultaneously, leading to one of the fastest Cold War deaths we’ve ever seen.

After respawning, Reddit user UnmaskedGod runs into the Checkmate plane, only to be immediately eliminated once again. This time, a different Akimbo Magnum user gets a triple kill with the guns.

It’s clear that the Akimbo Magnum is powerful, even at medium range. The weapons aren’t great at long distances, but many users carry them with a sniper or tactical rifle to mitigate their weakness.

For now though, we do agree with many players in saying that the OP Akimbo Magnums need a nerf.

However, right now Treyarch is likely to be hard at work on the game’s next major update. Here’s what’s coming to Black Ops Cold War on February 4.

But we hope the team gets around to this update right after that, as well as tackling Cold War’s camping problem.

We also have 2 new Black Ops Cold War Zombies maps coming if this new leak is correct, meaning that the team has quite the job ahead of them.
