A new Dropkick game mode appears to be coming for Black Ops Cold War, bringing with it the game's first Nuke.
Since its launch, Black Ops Cold War has been criticized for being a little light on content. With limited modes, maps, and unlocks to discover, it appears that Treyarch is quickly aiming to bring more to the game after launch.
Now we know a little bit about one of the upcoming game modes for Black Ops Cold War, and it sounds like the stakes are about to get high. According to new leaks that appear in-game, Cold War's upcoming Dropkick mode will bring an active Nuke into the conflict.
Black Ops Cold War's Dropkick Mode Brings the Nuke
Although fans expected the return of the Nuke Killstreak in Black Ops Cold War, the classic finishing move never arrived in-game. It seems, however, that Treyarch has been saving the nuclear warheads for Dropkick mode.
Dropkick is a new objective mode, yet to be officially announced, revolving around holding an area with your team. What we know about the mode is limited, but in-game hints during loading screens reveal the following facts:
"If you die while your team is holding the objective, you won't respawn until the carrier is eliminated."
"Gain access to launch codes while holding the objective in Dropkick to deploy a powerful Nuke and declare victory."
From these leaks, it appears that players will need to work to fend off enemies while gathering launch codes in-game. The successful team will have the chance to drop a devastating Nuke and win the game.
It's not quite the Killstreak players may have hoped for, but it's an interesting game mode nonetheless. This isn't the only leak in the game right now either.
Just yesterday, a new Black Ops Cold War bug revealed a Christmas Nuketown on the way.
Whether the new Dropshot game mode is coming alongside the new content in Black Ops Cold War Season 1, we don't yet know. But with only days until the new season drops, we won't have to wait long to find out.
