Promises that the Black Ops Cold War music would be worth the wait now make a lot more sense.
Last week, Tony Flame, Lead Game Designer at Treyarch, promised fans that the new Black Ops lobby music would get a serious upgrade with the Beta. Since then, we've been eagerly awaiting the next Cold War trial.
Now that it's finally here, we can experience the new music in all its glory. And it's a track that's sure to get anyone hyped.
When booting up the Black Ops Cold War Beta, fans are treated to some amazing new menu music. The track appears to contain elements of 80s synthwave and the guitars really kick in as the song builds up.
Interestingly, several fans have pointed out that the new music is reminiscent of a certain YouTube streamer. In fact, it sounds very similar to the intro music used by DrDisrespect as he starts his streams.
Many fans have made the comparison, and the two-time champion even retweeted a claim that the menu music sounds like it was made for him. DrDisrespect has already streamed footage from the Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Alpha in a recent broadcast.
Perhaps the similarity between his brand and the new lobby tunes will bring the shooter fan back for the game's Open Beta.
Black Ops Music Is Always Hype
Call of Duty as a franchise has put out some incredible music, but Black Ops is a series known for its stand-out tracks. Many games likely remember the days of Black Ops 2, with its amazing main theme.
The series has also featured major artists like Eminem, Avenged Sevenfold, and Johnny Cash. Many fans praise Blacks Ops as being the first Call of Duty to go all out with its soundtrack.
Now, 5 games into the series, Treyarch shows no signs of hitting the brakes. We're excited to see just what else Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War has in store for us.
Alongside the Open Beta's release, a new Black Ops Cold War promotion could offer double XP for a year. Those dropping into the new trial period should look to stock up on select snacks and drinks if they want to take part.
In other news, Call of Duty fans are calling for the return of the nuke killstreak in Black Ops Cold War. We're certain we haven't seen all the upcoming game has to offer, but we'll have to see if a nuclear warhead is set to be in the mix.
