A new Black Ops Cold War exploit is letting players glitch out of the Nuketown '84 map.
This isn't the first time players have found a way to glitch out of Nuketown, but it's always interesting when developers don't fix issues between games. Despite Black Ops 4 fans finding a way to leave the boundaries of Nuketown, it appears that Treyarch wasn't able to stop players from accomplishing this in their follow-up title.
In a new viral clip, one Black Ops Cold War player shows just how easy it is to leave the Nuketown '84 map. By exiting the map boundaries, players can shoot enemies from previously inaccessible spots.
However as broken the exploit might be, it's not as useful as you'd think.
How to Glitch Out of Nuketown '84's Boundaries
To perform the map exploit for yourself, it's as simple as dropping into Cold War's Nuketown 24/7 playlist. Once you spawn, make sure you're in the yard of the house, nearest the yellow bus.
Head up the wooden stairs in the back yard, more specifically the handrail of the staircase itself. Get a running jump, and you should just about be able to land on the fence that makes up Nuketown's boundary.
Drop down to the right-hand yard, nearest the wooden shed, and run alongside the fence. There's a rock a short distance from the boundary, just before a green, leafy plant.
Standing on top of this rock will allow you to be no longer detected in a restricted area. You're free to stay here and shoot players for as long as you like.
This is clearly one of Black Ops Cold War's biggest exploits, and it's often occurring in the ongoing Nuketown 24/7 playlist. However, there's no cover in this area, making exploit users something of a sitting duck.
After all, if you kill an enemy from this location, they're not going to fall for your tricks twice. What's more, there doesn't appear to be any way back from this spot as of yet.
While Reddit users appear outraged that this is a sure sign of a map being copy and pasted over, that's part of Nuketown's charm at this point. The game certainly lacks content, though, and that's something that hopefully Black Ops Cold War Season 1 can solve.
The update is set to drop in a little under 2 weeks, and a leaked Cold War Christmas update appears to be coming not long after. Right now, Treyarch has a lot on its plate, between this issue and fixing the new Black Ops Cold War weapon XP bug.
Let's hope the game is in a more stable place when more players drop in this holiday season.
