A mistake with Cold War's R1 Shadowhunter crossbow has angered the Call of Duty community. Treyarch has taken measures to fix the problem, however, Cold War fans are still understandably upset.
Despite this, many players believe they have wasted their time and many are furious regarding Treyarch's decision. Here is what you need to know about the Cold War crossbow glitch which is causing a ton of frustration.
Cold War R1 Shadowhunter Crossbow Mistake
It appears that Treyarch has messed up big time with Cold War's crossbow mistake. Funnily enough, the weapon was not mentioned in Black Ops Cold War's March 18 update patch notes, despite it appearing in-game and available for unlocking.
The reason why? Treyarch has admitted that the crossbow addition was actually a mistake. It appears that Cold War's crossbow is in fact supposed to arrive later this week instead.
Interestingly, earlier this week there were some Cold War players already using the R1 Shadowhunter crossbow, but via unconventional means.
The Cold War community has been complaining about the way the situation has been handled. Especially considering Treyarch has been busy doing very little, such as giving Cold War's worst weapon a major buff.
In order to rectify their mistake, Treyarch has decided to remove Cold War's crossbow until further notice. However, this move has made the COD community extremely angry.
Furthermore, many are frustrated at Treyarch's decision to also reset player's progress. Take a look below at the tweet from Treyarch which outlines their Cold War crossbow mistake:
Players are annoyed that they have had their time wasted. COD fans believe that the weapon should have stayed available for unlocking, given that many put time and effort into completing the challenge.
Cold War R1 Shadowhunter Crossbow Error
The community is understandably very angry with this decision. To make matters worse, the in-game bundle has cost players money, many will have to wait to see this returned.
By resetting the challenge Treyarch is simultaneously wasting players' time and money. Not a smart move from Treyarch by any means. However, Treyarch is also dealing with other issues, such as Cold War's weapon XP glitch, which is infuriating players.
Although we are sure to see the crossbow return later this week, it doesn't do much for those players that have already put in the time and effort.
In better news, a major weapon balancing update is coming in Black Ops Cold War Season 2 Reloaded. It looks like fans can expect a huge weapon balancing overhaul coming relatively soon.
Furthermore, players are also hoping for a solution to Cold War's biggest matchmaking issue, which is also making players angry.
Finally, Call of Duty 2021 has been teased in Black Ops Cold War Zombies Outbreak mode. It looks like fans can look forward to a new COD title coming relatively soon.
Perhaps this new Call of Duty game may fix the problems that Black Ops Cold War is currently facing. Although Activision claims Black Ops Cold War could be supported for four years.
