The Black Ops Cold War beta trailer is here, offering a brief look at what will be available.
The upcoming beta will allow players to get hands-on with Black Ops Cold War before its release on November 13, 2020. Here’s everything you need to know.
It will span across two weekends. The first will be exclusive to PlayStation, whereas the second will be available for all platforms.
As detailed on the official Black Ops Cold War beta website, the schedule is as follows:
Weekend 1 – PlayStation Exclusive:
- October 8-9: PS4 Early Access
- October 10-12: PS4 Open Beta
Weekend 2 – Crossplay Beta:
- Oct. 15-16: Xbox + PC Early Access, PS4 Open Access
- Oct. 17-19: Open All Platforms
The beta will kick off this Thursday at 10am PT / 6pm BST.
How to Get Early Access
To get early access, you will need to pre-order the game digitally. There is no early access for preordering a physical copy.
Those who purchase digitally on PS4 will now be able to pre-load. Pre-loading starts Tuesday, October 13 at 8AM PT for Xbox One and PC early access players.
Furthermore, Treyarch has recently been giving some beta codes away on Twitter. It looks like this may be a regular occurrence leading up to the beta, but you’ll have to be very quick to redeem one as they’re usually all taken within minutes.
If you’re lucky enough to get a code, you will need to head over to your platform’s store and redeem it.
Treyarch says there have been many improvements since the alpha, so we’re certainly excited for what’s in store.
Treyarch’s Tony Flame says there will be new lobby music, features, and more.
For now, Treyarch has only confirmed Cartel as one of the maps that will be available.
However, the full list of Black Ops Cold War beta maps may have already been leaked.
