Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 has the best Zombies mode in years but players are growing tired of facing many of its Special and Elite Enemies.
Black Ops 6 Zombies currently has four incredible round-based maps for players to enjoy, but many users complain that it’s difficult to have a good time at higher rounds.
We’ve seen countless complaints about the difficulty of high-round runs, and it all usually comes down to one major issue: Special and Elite zombie spam.
Now, after the developer appears indifferent to their complaints, some players even believe that Treyarch is incentivized to make high rounds impossible in Black Ops 6 Zombies!
The Issue With Special & Elite Zombies
Each Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Zombies has its own Special and Elite enemy roster to sprinkle in among the attacking hordes.
But fans of the undead survival mode tend to find that these powerful enemies can get more than a little overwhelming, particularly when it comes to high-round gameplay.
While Manglers, Abominations, and Amalgams have their place, each enemy tends to get an inflated health pool at higher rounds.
What’s more, they begin to spawn in increased numbers, which can make dealing with them near-impossible while also avoiding a huge horde of regular zombies.

Players can use special Ammo Mods to deal increased damage to each enemy, but since your weapon can only equip one Mod at a time (and Wonder Weapons can’t use Ammo Mods) it’s not possible to account for every weakness at once.
“I’ve said it before and got flamed for it, but I’m doubling down,” Reddit user M1sguidedS0n writes. “I don’t understand why EVERY SINGLE modern zombies map has to have mini bosses. Why can’t we get one map that is zombies only and a special round every few rounds?”
And it’s not just that the Special and Elite zombies are bullet sponges that’s the issue either.
Manglers have drawn a lot of complaints from fans due to their aimbot-like cannon shots, which track the players and knock down basic zombies, disrupting hordes in the process.
Is Change on the Way?
Treyarch recently fixed Amalgam and Shock Mimic grabs so that they shouldn’t immediately get a player killed or trapped any longer.
However, being pulled into a horde of zombies is still an easy way to end up dead.

We don’t see a lot of frustration for Doppelghasts, proving that Black Ops 6 can do Elite & Special zombies right. But we think player sentiment would look a lot more positive if the boss zombies were tuned down just a little, in both volume and HP.
Some users believe that Manglers are set to return in Season 3’s Zombies map, especially since we appear to be heading back to Liberty Falls.
But so far, we’ve always had a new Special or Elite enemy introduced per map, so let’s just hope that the new addition to the roster is a little more fun to go up against.
