A new discovery in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Zombies could indicate that using a Thermal Scope may help us track down a new Easter Egg!
By now, we thought we’d discovered all the Easter Eggs and secrets that there were to find in Black Ops 6’s launch maps.
Both Terminus and Liberty Falls have been searched thoroughly, and every intricate little detail has been unearthed. Or so we thought.
But, as it turns out, one weapon attachment could hold the key to discovering at least one new Easter Egg – or perhaps many more to come!
Black Ops 6 Thermal Scope Easter Egg on Liberty Falls
Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Zombies players have discovered that using a Thermal Scope could be key to completing a new Easter Egg on Liberty Falls.
Over on the COD Zombies subreddit, user sinkers1993_ posted their discovery that the body on the roof of the Liberty Falls bank lights up when viewed through a Thermal Scope.
Furthermore, the user suggested that the body was surrounded by footprints, hinting at an Easter Egg waiting to be uncovered.
We’ve done our homework, and we’re not so sure. Here’s what you need to know about the Thermal sight in Black Ops 6 Zombies:
Testing Thermal Sights in Black Ops 6 Zombies
First off, while both humans and zombies do appear highlighted when looking through the heat-seeking optic, corpses usually do not.
In order to test the user’s theory, we grabbed our Thermal Scope and headed to the bank roof. And what we found might be a little disappointing for some fans.
Only some of the bodies on the roof are highlighted in orange, indicating heat… the ones that are actively on fire.
The other bodies all appear the same dull purple as standard corpses, even some that appear to be still smoldering. The poor inhabitants of the Liberty Falls bank roof seem to have been burned to death, which could explain why they’re lighting up at all.
But what is interesting is that the bullets found nearby are highlighted under a Thermal Scope – so there could be a secret to discover here after all.
However, the claims that there are footprints around the bodies that could be followed is, unfortunately, untrue.
The only footprints you can see under a Thermal Scope on the bank of the Liberty Falls roof are the ones left behind by the player. We checked the entire roof and the only footsteps to be found were our own – there were none present before we began walking around.
That’s not to say that there are no secrets to discover when it comes to the Thermal Scope however. We wouldn’t be surprised to see players discover some invisible secret in the coming days, now that fans are searching the maps with heat vision.
Perhaps we’ll see a new Easter Egg discovered using Thermal sights in Citadelle des Morts when it launches next week!
