The excitement is ramping up for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Zombies, with a new cinematic trailer and Perk reveal dropping within 24 hours.

Black Ops 6 Zombies is releasing with two brand new maps that are set to continue the Dark Aether storyline.

On day one, players will be able to explore Liberty Falls, a map that leaks indicate is set around a town in West Virginia. The other map, Terminus, is set on an island that contains a prison harboring the members of Requiem, who were arrested during the conclusion of Cold War Zombies.

We already got one teaser for the Terminus map on Black Ops 6’s new ‘The Truth Dies’ website. And now, Activision is ready to reveal more:

Terminus Trailer – Black Ops 6 Zombies

Over on the official Call of Duty YouTube channel, Activision has released the first cinematic trailer for Black Ops 6 Zombies, focussing on the upcoming Terminus map:

The date at the trailer’s opening reveals that the events of Terminus take place in 1991, six years after the conclusion of Cold War Zombies’ storyline.

In Cold War’s post-credits sequence, we saw William Peck in 1990 attempting to charter a boat to Terminus island.

It appears it took longer than expected to arrive on the island, though Peck’s outfit appears unchanged.

In the trailer, Peck, alongside new character Maya Aguinaldo, busts the Requiem members out of prison to hunt down the newly returned Edward Richtofen.

But Maya has other plans, insisting that the crew first find her brother, who is seemingly situated somewhere on Terminus Island.

As the trailer concludes, we get a new look at the Terminus Zombies Crew in action. The team of canon protagonists consists of Elizabeth Grey, Grigori Weaver, Mackenzie Carver, and Maya Aguinaldo, adding three familiar faces to one new one.

However, Treyarch has revealed that while set Crews are making their return, players will be free to choose their own Operators to play as, should they prefer.

We’d advise playing as the default Zombies Crew whenever you’re first visiting Terminus, however, as the character dialogue will no doubt be a lot more interesting. But in subsequent playthroughs, changing things up is a great way to keep things feeling fresh.

New Perk: Melee Macchiato

Black Ops 6 Zombies is introducing a brand-new Perk-A-Cola can by the name of Melee Macchiato.

This new reveal was made over on TheTruthDies, Black Ops 6’s new Zombies-themed teaser site, where it appears in a mock commercial showcase.

For those that haven’t played Zombies in some time, Perk-a-Cola machines will be dotted around the Black Ops 6 Zombies maps.

Purchasing drinks from these machines with your hard-earned points will allow you to consume them and gain a Perk – at least until you get downed by the undead.

Perks will make surviving the zombie hordes far easier, and each comes with their own unique special effect. In the case of Melee Macchiato, players that drink the Perk Can will replace their standard weapon butt melee attack with a deadly punch that sends enemies flying.

In addition, players who research the Perk between matches will be able to unlock minor and major augments that upgrade its effects.

For example, users will be able to use melee kills to reload a portion of their magazine, or heal themselves every time they strike an enemy.

According to the commercial, the new melee-focused drink will cost 2,500 point in-game, when purchased from its Perk-a-Cola machine or from Der Wunderfizz.

Due to the addition of a melee Perk, it stands to reason that Black Ops 6 Zombies will contain melee weapons that players can wield. It could even mean that we see the return of a melee Wonder Weapon in the future, though Terminus Island’s Wonder Weapon is actually a devastating energy beam.

What’s interesting is that Black Ops 6 is giving Operators a dedicated melee weapon, meaning that you no longer have to add close-quarters tools to your loadout. And Treyarch confirms that Melee Macchiato WILL upgrade that weapon, as well as your fists.
