Here’s your step-by-step guide to completing the Terminus Main Quest Easter Egg in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Zombies!

Black Ops 6 Zombies looks like a return to form for the popular undead survival game mode, and it brings back a round-based setting at long last.

As with all Treyarch Zombies maps, there’s a story to unravel on Terminus Island – and we’ve compiled everything you need to know about the Main Quest Easter Egg.

The Story

Terminus takes place in 1991, which is six years after the events of Cold War Zombies and one year after we saw William Peck attempt to charter a boat to the island in the game’s end credits sequence.

Terminus Island is located in the Pacific Ocean and previously acted as a US Naval base before becoming a top-secret CIA outpost.

Now home to the mysterious Project Janus, Terminus also acts as a prison to hold members of Requiem.

During the explosive finale of Cold War Zombies, it was revealed that Eddie Richtofen is back and that the longtime series antagonist had been the Director of Requiem throughout the game.

Eddie Richtofen in Black Ops Cold War Zombies Final Cutscene

But after he ordered the imprisonment of his former team and took control of the Forsaken, who knows what he has in store for us this time around?

In the Terminus intro cinematic, William Peck and new character Maya Aguinaldo arrive on Terminus to free Requiem.

But before they head after their former Director, they must first save Aguinaldo’s brother, who is located somewhere on the island.

Crew

Longtime Zombies players might be happy to know that Zombies Crews are indeed returning in Black Ops 6 Zombies.

This time around, our set Crew is made up of returning characters Elizabeth Grey, Grigori Weaver, Mackenzie Carver.

Black Ops 6 Zombies Crew on Terminus

They are joined by a new face in Maya Aguinaldo, a character whose mission to save her brother from Terminus Island will act as the driving force behind the Main Quest Easter Egg.

It should be noted that, while Zombies Crews are back, it is not mandatory to use the set Operators if players would prefer to pick from their own character roster.

However, we recommend using the Crew at least once per map, as they have unique dialogue that helps flesh out the story.

Completing the Terminus Main Quest Guide

To start the Terminus Island Main Quest, players need to first activate three AMP machines.

Step 1: Find the Pack-a-Punch

  1. From the Terminus spawn, head into the adjacent room to the West, where you’ll find a strange machine called an Aetherium Maturation Pod in the corner.
  2. Activate the AMP for 500 Essence and you’ll be tasked with defending the machine from incoming undead who will try to break it.
AMP Machine in Black Ops 6 Zombies
  1. Don’t allow the machine to take too much damage from enemies before the time runs out or the objective will fail.
    • If the process fails, you’ll need to wait until the next round for the machine to cool down before you can try again.
    • Only zombies with purple eyes will be targeting the AMP – use this knowledge to prioritize taking out these enemies first!
  2. After defending one AMP, two more will be marked on your map. Head outside and follow the objective marker to head East (or follow the purple arrows) and find the second AMP at the bottom of the nearby staircase.
    • You’ll need to spend Essence to open several doors along the way, but you’ll have more than enough after completing a couple of rounds.
The Second AMP in Terminus Black Ops 6 Zombies
  1. The second AMP is in the Barracks at the bottom of the island. Activate and defend it once again.
    • Each AMP provides local power to its surrounding area. This second one will power up the Juggernog machine, which you can use to gain extra health if you choose.
  2. Head out of the Barracks to the East, following the purple arrows once more, opening another door and heading through the map’s underground tunnels.
The Final AMP in Black Ops 6 Zombies
  1. You’ll now find yourself in the Bio Lab, where the Pack-a-Punch is hiding under the water. Complete the final AMP in this area.
  2. Finally, once this last AMP is complete, dive into the water below the Bio Lab walkways.
  3. Swim down under the water and interact with the indicated Inclined Lift platform to have it rise up. On it, you’ll find your Pack-a-Punch machine, powered up and ready to use!
The Inclined Lift Pack-a-Punch in Black Ops 6 Terminus

Next up, you need to find the Beamsmasher Wonder Weapon, which can be acquired through the Mystery Box or SAM Trials.

If you get the Wonder Weapon yourself, you can skip a ton of steps and save a lot of time. We advise using the Wonderbar! GobbleGum to guarantee a Wonder Weapon from the Mystery Box, which has a 50/50 chance of being the Beamsmasher.

If you already have the Beamsmasher, skip to Step 4!

However, there’s also a guaranteed way to get your hands on the Beamsmasher, which we’ll cover below:

Step 2: Open the Research Office

  1. First, you’ll need to acquire the Dead Wire Ammo Mod, which you can purchase for 500 Salvage from The Arsenal.
    • There’s an Arsenal in the Pack-a-Punch room, so you can do this without moving from your last location!
  2. Next, return to the Inclined Lift where the Pack-a-Punch was found, and activate the lift to send it upwards.
  3. While the lift is ascending, ride up with it facing back the way you came, and shoot these three electrical boxes in this order, with Dead Wire equipped.

  1. First, while the lift is moving, turn around and shoot the electrical box that’s hidden behind a window.
  2. Next, shoot the next electrical box located on the left side of the lift and then the one at the very top.
    • This will cause a charge to carry from each box to the next, and you’ll see each box sparking when done correctly.
  3. After that, return to the Living Quarters where the Juggernog machine (and your second AMP) is, and shoot the electrical box just above and to the right of the AMP.

  1. Head outside and shoot one more electrical box on the other side of the Living Quarters wall, which will open up the Research Office!

Step 3: Build the Beamsmasher Wonder Weapon

  1. Grab the EMF Fob item which is located by the dead zombie in the Research Lab.

  1. Next up, head to the Sea Tower (Coordinates: F6) at the southern end of Terminus Island, where you’ll find a briefcase with a hand attached to it on the desk. Interact with the briefcase to open it, and collect the Multiphasic Resonator within.
    • Collecting this will spawn a handful of enemies, so be ready for a fight!

  1. Head into Engineering, which is just across from the Living Quarters, and pick up the blue battery on the desk.
    • There is no prompt for this item, but interact with it and you’ll see it disappear.

  1. You will now need to locate and turn on three computers, marked with X, Y, and Z, which you can find at the following locations:
All Laptop Locations XYZ Terminus Black Ops 6 Zombies

Here’s a look at where each laptop appears on the map – be sure to interact (Square/X/F) with each one to turn them on!

X – Docks

X Computer Location Docks Terminus Black Ops 6 Zombies

Y – Storage Area

Y Computer Location Black Ops 6 Terminus

Z – Communications

Z Computer Location Black Ops 6 Terminus
  1. Interact with each laptop and they will turn on, displaying some circular symbols.
  2. Return to the Research Office and interact with the computer to be given a math problem that changes each game.
    • The whiteboards and the symbols you found on each PC create an algebra puzzle, the answer of which reveals the code you need to enter.
    • In the image below, the symbol for X matches the one on the whiteboard where the 1 column matches the 1 row. Therefore X is 11, and the first part of the code (2X+11) is 22+11=33!

  1. If math isn’t your strong suit, you can interact with Peck back at the Guard Station spawn area to spend 5000 Essence and skip the puzzle completely, if you choose.

  1. Enter your code into the PC and then complete your current Round. After that, you can pick up the Multiphasic Resonator from the top of the PC.

  1. Run down to the docks and get into a Tactical Raft, which can be purchased from various water-adjacent machines from around the island if there isn’t one already waiting.
  2. Using the Tactical Raft, head to Castle Rock Island to the north, where there’s a blue, glowing orb waiting.
  3. Interact with the orb and it’ll begin spawning enemies nearby. Occasionally, fighting near the orb will cause it to zap one zombie and electrify them. Defeat that zapped enemy and they will drop a mini orb.

  1. Interact with these mini orbs to pick them up, and then run into the original orb to consume it. Repeat this step until the larger orb flies away.
  2. Don’t forget to pick up your Multiphasic Resonator before you follow the orb to Crab Island, the largest island on the map.

  1. Find the now-green orb and repeat the process once again. Don’t forget the Multiphasic Resonator before getting back on your Tactical Raft and heading northwest to the final location: Temple Island.

  1. Plant the Multiphasic Resonator on the purple orb and repeat the zombie-killing and orb-collecting one final time. After this is complete, your screen will turn white, indicating that you’ve successfully completed this step.
  2. Collect the AMP Munition that the purple orb has left behind.

  1. Now you can return to the Research Office where you can assemble the Beamsmasher Wonder Weapon!

Step 4: Find the Hard Drive

  1. The next thing you need to do is Pack-a-Punch the Beamsmasher Wonder Weapon.
  2. Then, you need to check the Tentacle Traps around the map to see which one has a hard drive below it.
  3. There are two Tentacle Traps on either end of the Bio Lab, but there’s also one in the Barracks where you turned on the second AMP machine. Look for a hard drive buried beneath the rubble underneath the trap, so you know which one to turn on.

  1. Activate the Tentacle Trap and then shoot it with the Pack-a-Punched Beamsmasher to cause it to drop a hard drive. Pick up the drive.

  1. Head back to Peck at the Guard Station and deposit the hard drive in the hatch nearby.
  2. Return to the Bio Lab and interact with the key pad on the tank at the very center of the room to talk to Maya’s brother Nathan. You’ll now be tasked with finding a code to set him free.

Step 5: Find the Code to Free Nathan

Unfortunately, the code to free Nathan changes each game, but the locations of its components remain in the same places:

All Code Locations Black Ops 6 Terminus
  1. The first part of the code is located in the Interrogation Room. Look at the clock on the wall in the sealed-off cage, and the number you want is the one the hour hand is pointing to.
Interrogation Room Code Terminus Black Ops 6 Zombies
In this case, the hour hand is pointing to 3, so this is the first digit of the code
  1. The second digit is on the bulletin board in the Mess Hall. It is the same number as is on the playing card that is pinned to the board.

The 8 of diamonds means our next digit is 8
  1. The third number is located in Engineering on this Safety First poster, where it is the same number as the number of days since the last injury.
Safety First Code Terminus Island Black Ops 6
It has been 7 days since the last injury in Engineering, so our final digit is 7. Therefore the final code is 387 – however your code will be different!
  1. Return to the Bio Lab and enter the code to free Nathan, but be ready for a fight before you do so!
  2. After entering the code, all players must come to the center of the Bio Lab and interact with one of the valves on Nathan’s tank at the same exact time.
    • It doesn’t matter how many players are in your game, so long as every player interacts with a valve at the same time.
Bio Lab Main Vat
  1. This will set off an alarm and free Nathan from his tank but – surprise! – he’s now an Amalgam and you must defeat him.
  2. Once the boss fight is complete, jump into the water below and collect the Key Card.

Step 6: Connect the Nodes

  1. Head back to a Tactical Raft and drive it to the southwest, where you’ll find the large shipwreck (Coordinates: C6). Enter using the hole in the side of the vessel.
  2. Climb the ladder and interact with the Key Card Reader to open the hatch.

  1. Collect the two Node Connectors from the ship’s Workshop (only one can be carried per player). Zombies will start flooding in from the nearby windows, so defeat them to unlock the hatch and make your escape.
    • Bear in mind that the user holding the Node Collector will not be able to run while carrying the item on their back!

  1. You’ll need to use these Node Connectors in two of the three locations shown below:
    • One of the random Nodes will already be fixed, and the other two will be broken, requiring you to insert the Node Connector.

  1. Return to Peck at the Guard Station and talk to him once again. Then, collect the Hacking Device from the slot next to his window.

Step 7: Hack the Radio Buoys

  1. Grab a Tactical Raft and head to the three Radio Buoy locations shown below:
All Radio Buoy Locations Black Ops 6 Zombies
  1. When at the Buoy, the player with the Hacking Device must interact with it until the process is complete.
    • It helps to have other players present here, as there will be plenty of airborne enemies (and possibly even the tentacle monster) to contend with while you’re hacking.
  2. You’ll need to complete all three Buoy hacks (in any order) within two minutes, so be sure to act fast.
Radio Buoy Location Black Ops 6 Terminus Island
  1. Once your screen turns white and the timer stops, you’ll know you’ve completed the hacking part of the Terminus Easter Egg.
  2. Now travel back to the Bio Lab as quickly as you can, while the characters talk amongst themselves for a bit.

Step 8: Defuse the Bombs

You now have 5 minutes to defuse the bombs in the Bio Lab, or Terminus will be blown to pieces.

  1. Two of the bombs can be found on the ground floor of the Bio Lab, and the final one is on the room’s upper level.
Disarming the Bombs in Bio Lab Black Ops 6 Zombies
Source: Geeky Pastimes
  1. Hold interact to defuse the bombs, but be warned that each bomb takes 10 seconds to disarm. And in the meantime, you’ll be unable to defend yourself against attack, so use teammates or Decoy Grenades/Cymbal Monkeys to keep enemies distracted.
    • When playing Solo, bear in mind that you can stop disarming to clear out enemies before returning to the bomb and your process will be saved. We did not seem to have this luxury when completing the Easter Egg with teammates, however.
  2. When all three bombs are defused, the screen will turn white and then we’re on to the final step of the Easter Egg!

Step 9: Defeat Patient 13

Before going any further, make sure you’re as ready as you can be for the final boss fight.

You’ll want all the GobbleGums, Perks, and Pack-a-Punch Tier 3 weapons you can carry, as this is a very difficult boss battle! We also recommend getting a Mutant Injector if possible, as it’ll be hard to stay alive during certain moments of the fight.

When ready, interact with the white door in the Bio Lab to begin the final battle with Patient 13!

Patient 13 Main Quest Boss Terminus Black Ops 6 Zombies

Phase 1

  • In the first phase, you’ll want to shoot the yellow blisters present on Patient 13’s tentacles whenever possible, as they will fire projectiles at you.
  • If he emerges from the water beside you, you’ll need to immediately get away or risk being one-shot-killed by his swipe attack.
    • However, when Patient 13 does swipe at you, it’ll expose a glowing red weak spot on the main body which will take extra damage!
  • You’ll mostly want to focus on dealing damage to the main body where possible, but don’t let yourself get overrun by regular zombie spawns or you can quickly become overwhelmed!

As ever, shoot the glowing weak spots for additional damage

Phase 2

  • When Patient 13’s health bar disappears and then the boss reappears, glowing red, it’ll now be in Phase 2.
  • Patient 13 now has a giant weak spot around his mouth, so focus fire there to deal maximum damage.
  • There will be a lot more Manglers in Phase 2, so try to clear them out where possible.
  • Sometimes, the boss’ mouth will stop glowing and instead, its front two tentacles will be covered in pustules – indicating its new weak points.
  • When the boss is down to around one-third of its total health, make sure you’re at the side of the pier that’s near the Ammo Crate.
  • The boss will disappear and an Amalgam will spawn alongside the other undead, so focus on clearing out all the zombies until it returns.

Phase 3

  • When the boss returns, it has a new insta-kill ability for you to contend with.
  • When Patient 13 begins charging up an electrical blast, you can either focus on damaging it until it gets staggered, or take cover to avoid being hit.
  • As this is the most challenging phase, it’s worth throwing everything you have at Patient 13 to whittle down its health as quickly as possible!

Once you’ve finally exhausted Patient 13’s health, the Terminus Main Quest Easter Egg is complete!

You’ll now be treated to the final cutscene, teasing where we’re heading for Black Ops 6 Zombies’ next map.

Many thanks to Call of Duty: Zombies expert Geeky Pastimes for showing us how to complete the Terminus Easter Egg! You can see his full video guide below:
