A brand new support item, the Mutant Injection, allows Black Ops 6 Zombies players to transform into a deadly Mangler, capable of tearing through undead hordes.
Black Ops developer Treyarch just revealed a huge blog post, a new trailer, and 17 minutes of Zombies gameplay on the upcoming Terminus map.
It’s a tremendous amount of new information that serves to make us extremely excited about the return of round-based gameplay. But a couple of things have us more excited than anything else.
First is the reveal of not one but three Wonder Weapons coming to Black Ops 6 Zombies. But even those might pale in comparison to the ability to transform yourself into a Mangler.
The Mutant Injection in Black Ops 6 Zombies
First teased on the official Treyarch Studios X account, and later fully revealed in the Terminus gameplay trailer, the Mutant Injection is the ultimate support item in Black Ops 6 Zombies.
By using the mysterious purple injector, players can temporarily transform into Mangler, one of COD Zombies’ armored boss enemies.
When in Mangler form, players get three feet taller, gain the protection of some heavy armor, and can utilize some powerful new abilities.
Manglers can let loose a vicious Melee Swipe or fire their Mangler Cannon to blast through enemy hordes. Alternatively, they can simply charge forward, stomping the undead beneath their feet.
Treyarch reports that the Mutant Injection version of the Mangler boasts some ‘seriously impressive damage upgrades,’ which could indicate that we’re far stronger than a standard boss enemy.
The developer also teases that the new form allows players to accomplish some sort of secret task too, but it won’t reveal what that is for the time being.
However, all good things must come to an end, and the Mutant Injection is no exception to the rule. After a short time, the player will transform back into their standard human form.
How to Get the Mutant Injection in Black Ops 6 Zombies
There are two ways to get your hands on the Mutant Injection in Call of Duty Black Ops 6 Zombies:
- Craft it using Salvage at a Crafting Table
- Find it as rare ground loot after killing zombies
Given the support item’s power, we expect the Mutant Injection to cost a significant amount of Salvage at Crafting Tables.
Like in Black Ops Cold War Zombies, Salvage is dropped by slain zombies, and must be picked up as ground loot.
Therefore, it should be relatively easy to get your hands on the Mutant Injection in Terminus (and presumably in Liberty Falls, too), but choose when to activate it wisely, as your item will be consumed upon use!
