Here’s an in-depth step-by-step guide to completing the Liberty Falls Main Quest Easter Egg in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Zombies!
If you’re dropping into Liberty Falls and you don’t want to deal with figuring out the intricacies of the map’s Easter Egg, we’ve got you covered.
Here’s everything you need to know about the Liberty Falls Main Quest, as well as a detailed guide on how to complete the Easter Egg:
The Story
We got our first teaser for the Liberty Falls storyline in the final cutscene of MW3 Zombies.
In the conclusion of MWZ, we see Dr Ava Jansen, the biological daughter of Samantha Maxis and Sergei Ravenov, in a hotel room at Liberty Falls in 2021.
Ravenov attempts to warn her away, but a shadowy figure inside Jansen’s mirror begins to emerge from a portal.

Jansen gets closer to the mirror, believing she hears her mother Samantha Maxis’ voice, before being grabbed and pulled into the vortex.
Back in 1991, at the exact same time as the events of the Terminus cinematic trailer, Edward Richtofen wakes up from a nightmare to discover that the captured Forsaken from Cold War Zombies is causing chaos.

Fighting his way to the lab, Richtofen is attacked by purple energy, which he refers to as ‘Sam,’ stating that they will never be free. However, whatever is talking from inside the Forsaken prison replies that she is already free.
At this moment, a dimensional breach occurs on Terminus, and the events of both Black Ops 6 launch maps commence.

It’s worth noting that the figure inside Jansen’s mirror did not resemble Samantha Maxis, nor does the voice we hear in the cinematic sound much like the iconic character.
The reason for that, you’ll have to play through both Terminus and Liberty Falls to find out!
Crew
Unlike in Terminus, Liberty Falls does not have a specific Crew for us to play as.
In Liberty Falls, our Crew is a group of outsiders who are mistaken for Project Janus operatives upon entering the incursion site.

Players are therefore free to pick their favorite Operators when heading into the West Virginian small town map.
Completing the Liberty Falls Main Quest Guide
To get started with the Liberty Falls Main Quest, you must first investigate the Church to discover the Pack-a-Punch location:
Step 1: Investigate the Church
- When spawning into Liberty Falls, players must follow one of two orange objective markers appear on their HUD.
- Both of these markers lead to the quickest way to the Church, and both cost the same amount of Essence in the end.
- Left takes you through the Liberty Lanes bowling alley, right takes you a slightly more scenic outdoor route. Pick your favorite but stick to it so you don’t waste Essence on opening unnecessary doors!

- Along the marked route, you’ll need to open three doors that total 5250 Essence (1500, 1750, 2000 respectively). This means you’ll need to survive for a few rounds to rack up points, so we advise spending some Essence on a Wall Buy or a Perk Can if needed.
- After you arrive at the Church, you can open the Dimensional Membrane on the door for 2250 Essence.
- You will then step into the Dark Aether and discover the Pack-a-Punch waiting within!

- Before you leave the Church, it’s worth interacting (Square/X/F) on the large machine on the wall to the right.
- Doing this will trigger a conversation with an NPC which you’ll need to activate for a later step of the Easter Egg. You don’t need to stick around for it, but make sure to activate the machine before you leave.
Step 2: Build the Jet Gun
Next, we need to build the Jet Gun, AKA the Thrustodyne Model 23, which requires three different parts from around the map.
Note: You can also get the Jet Gun from other methods, such as the Mystery Box in order to skip this step entirely!
If you use the Wonderbar GobbleGum to guarantee a Wonder Weapon spawn from the Mystery Box, you can skip a huge chunk of the Liberty Falls Easter Egg here!
Here’s where to find each component, and where to construct your Liberty Falls Wonder Weapon. These can be acquired in any order:
Water Pressure Gauge
- First, head to Lily’s Flowerpot (Coordinates: E4).

- Once there, hold interact (Square/X/F) on the tap outside and you’ll remove the valve from the top.
- Like many Easter Egg items, there is no indication that the valve can be interacted with, but doing so will remove it and place it in your inventory.

- Then, head to Fuller’s Liberty Lanes (Coordinates: F6) and find the yellow panel on the wall, just to the right of the bowling lanes.
- Shoot or melee the panel to remove its front cover.

- The player with the valve must stand near the panel and hold the interact button to crank up the water pressure.
- This takes a long time to complete, and you’ll be defenseless against the undead while interacting with the gauge. However, you can leave it alone for a while if you need to defend yourself – but the pressure will slowly decrease while you’re away.

- Once the water pressure is full, the Water Pressure Gauge will pop off and you can collect it.
That’s one of three components for the Jet Gun collected!
Handbrake
- For the Handbrake, you need to find the Groundskeeper in the Cemetery next to the Church (Coordinates: B4/B5).
- This special zombie has a unique look and name below his health bar. However, he is just as weak as a standard enemy.
- Players have reported the Groundskeeper can spawn in early rounds, but he’ll only appear when you’re at the Cemetery, so fight off the incoming zombies for a while here until he appears.

- Kill the Groundskeeper and pick up the Toolshed Key he drops.
- Then, use the key to open the Toolshed located in the Groundskeeper’s Yard (Coordinates: D4), just outside the Cemetery.

- Inside, you’ll find the Handbrake. Pick it up.

Just one more part left and then the Jet Gun is ours! Unfortunately, this next one can prove to be the trickiest to acquire.
Electrical Wires
- For the final component, you’ll need to head to Radio House (Coordinates: H3).

- There, you’ll need a Mangler to shoot the gated door that leads into the store. There are three ways to pull this off:
- You can head to a Crafting Table and craft a Mangler Cannon for 1250 Salvage (Requires Player Level 20).
- You can craft or obtain a Mangler Injector from boss enemies/SAM Trials and use that to turn yourself into a Mangler.
- Or you can simply stand near the door and dodge out of the way as a real Mangler shoots its arm cannon at you!

- However you do it, you’ll need to open the door using a Mangler Cannon blast, and then head into the store.
- Inside, you’ll find piles of trash around the store which you can interact with to clear out.

- These piles can contain salvage or Vermin, but one of them will always drop the Electrical Wires!
Now you have all three components required to build the Jet Gun, so it’s time to craft!
Crafting the Jet Gun
- To craft the Jet Gun, return to your spawn point at the southeast end of the Liberty Falls map.
- Head up the stairs to the second floor of Motor Lodge and (unless you’ve already been up here this game) a small horde of zombies will burst out of one of the rooms.

- Clear them out, and head into the room to find a partly-constructed Jet Gun waiting on the workbench.
- Interact (Square/X/F) with the Jet Gun to complete building the Wonder Weapon, and then pick it up!

You now have both an incredibly powerful weapon and an essential tool for finishing the Liberty Falls Easter Egg Main Quest in Black Ops 6 Zombies.
Don’t lose it, as you’ll only be able to craft the Jet Gun once per game!
Step 3: Collect LTG Parts
You must now collect three more parts, this time to craft the Limited Transdimensional Gateway device. Here’s where each is located:

Part 1
- The first part is located on the second level of the Church.
- Head inside and interact with the machine on the right if you didn’t do so earlier.
- Then, you’ll see the floating near the balcony above the front entrance.

- Use the Jet Gun’s primary fire to suck in the part and you’ve successfully collected it!
Part 2
- For part number 2, head out of the church and left, down the slope.
- On the way down the hill, you’ll be able to make a right and climb onto the nearby rooftops.
- Jump from the rooftop near where the zipline is located, landing on the white van, then turn back to face the building you were just on (Buzz’s Cuts).

- Point the Jet Gun at the open window on the second floor of Buzz’s Cuts and use primary fire to pull in another part of the LTG.
- Collect it, then there’s just one more to get!
Part 3
- The third part of the LTG is located in the roof panels of Olly’s Comics.
- Head into the comic store, then look above the counter, where there’s a large hole in the roof.

- Use the Jet Gun to pull the final part towards you and you’re all done!
Assembling the LTG
Once you’re done collecting parts, head onto the rooftop of the bank, accessible by an assortment of ziplines, such as the one at the Church or other rooftops.

Interact with the Workbench to build the LTG and then pick it up!
Step 4: Fill the First Aether Canister
- Next, return to the Church and interact with the machine on the right to collect an Aether Canister.
- When carrying the Aether Canister, the player holding it will be unable to run, so be sure to only pick it up when you’ve done one or two zombies remaining if you’re playing Solo.

- Drop the Aether Canister near the trap by the gas station sign in the spawn area for now.
- We’re not going to use this immediately, but this sets it up in the perfect location to return to after dealing with the LTG.

- Then head to the nearby purple lightning in Riverside.
- Place the LTG Device below the purple lightning and you’ll need to defend it for 1 minute.
- Zombies that get close to the device will be sucked into the lightning and it will take damage, so be sure to keep them occupied!

- Once this process is complete, a boss zombie such as an Abomination or Mangler will spawn, and you need to trap them in the Aether Canister you left behind.
- To do so, head back to the gas station sign where you left the Aether Canister. When the boss zombie is close to the trap on the ground, activate the Dark Aether Field using the generator nearby for 1000 Essence.

- Kill the boss zombie while it’s standing in your trap near the Aether Canister. This will cause its Essence to become captured.
- You may want to damage the boss before it stands in the trap, in order to make it easier to finish off when it’s near the canister.
- Carry the now-full Aether Canister back to the Church before all the energy leaks out, and insert it into the machine.

- Collect the Strauss Counter from the machine.

Step 5: Strauss Counter Color Puzzle
- You must now track down three machines around the map and alter their colors based on your Strauss Counter readings.
- The machines are found at the following locations:

- Hold your Tactical button to hold up the Strauss Counter when next to one of the machines. Then, you can interact (Square/X/F) with the machines to change their colors according to this guide:
- If the Strauss Counter shows Green, change the machine color to Red.
- If the Strauss Counter shows Yellow, change the machine color to Yellow.
- If the Strauss Counter shows Red, change the machine color to Green.
Strauss Counter 1
The first Strauss Counter can be found on the ledge overlooking Fuller’s Liberty Lanes.

Strauss Counter 2
The second Strauss Counter must be reached by going to the bank roof once again, then clearing some debris and dropping down to the east to land on a lower roof.

Strauss Counter 3
The third Strauss Counter can be found in the Groundskeeper’s Yard, just down from his toolshed.

After all three machines are changed to the correct colors, you’ll see purple beams of energy connect to another machine near the gas station at spawn.
- Collect the new Aether Canister from the machine.

- Don’t forget to also pick up the LTG from where the purple lightning storm was located.

Step 6: Fill the Second Aether Canister
- Take the Aether Canister towards the Church, and drop it near the Dark Aether Field trap on Hill Street.

- Then, head to the Cemetery and place your LTG under the second purple lightning storm.
- Defend the LTG for one minute, just like last time.

- At the end of the one-minute timer, another boss zombie will spawn. Lead it to the waiting trap.
- Activate the Dark Aether Field Generator when the boss steps into range and kill it to trap its Essence in the Aether Canister you placed nearby.
- Then take the full Aether Canister to the Church and place it into the machine before all the energy leaks out.

Step 7: The Final Encounter
Before you move on to the final boss fight of Liberty Falls, we suggest gearing up as much as possible.
Pack-a-Punch your weapons, upgrade their rarity at the Arsenal, craft Scorestreaks, collect Perks and make sure you’ve got Level 2 or 3 armor to ensure you stand a chance of success.
A Mangler Injector is also a great thing to have, as it’ll make you invincible during some of the hardest moments of the final fight!
- Interact with the machine at the Church one final time to activate the now-complete SDG Generator.
- You’ll now fight against three waves of enemies while remaining inside the Church.
- At the end of Wave 2, an extra tough Mangler will spawn.

- At the end of Wave 3, you’ll be faced with an Abomination. Take it down and the Liberty Falls Main Quest will be complete!
- You will get downed after defeating the Abomination – don’t worry! It’s all part of the final cutscene, and now it makes sense why we don’t have a set Crew for Liberty Falls!

Rewards
Treyarch has revealed that players who complete the Main Quest for a map at any point will earn “unique rewards themed after their respective map.”
In the case of Liberty Falls, players will unlock a new Project Janus skin for the Ray Gun, codenamed the PJ-SRU!

They’ll also receive an animated Calling Card to show off in their profile: Liberty Falls Quest Complete.
On top of that, those who complete the Main Quest before the Guided mode launches in Season 1 will also unlock an alternate-color limited-time Calling Card: Liberty Falls Quest Complete (Early).

However, this bonus reward is only attainable prior to Liberty Falls’ Guided mode becoming available.
After that point, only the regular reward will be available, even if you complete the standard unguided mode.
