Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 fans who are growing tired of the game’s regular collaborations think Activision should instead theme an entire Zombies map around another franchise’s IP.
COD Zombies has a long history of creative maps, but one thing the series has never done is crossover with another existing franchise.
Over the last few years, Activision has been leaning into Call of Duty collabs, likely inspired by Fortnite’s level of success with other IPs. But aside from some expensive skins and underwhelming game modes, these crossovers often have little to offer.
But what if we got a fully-fledged Zombies map themed around a popular franchise?
The Potential for a Zombies Crossover
Over on the COD Zombies subreddit, fans are discussing the idea of Black Ops 6 crossing over with another property and making a full round-based Zombies map.
While these types of collaborations would take far more time than creating a few skins, there’s no denying that the crossover events would suddenly become far more interesting.
After all, what if the next Black Ops 6 Zombies map was a location from The Walking Dead, complete with actual actors for the show lending their voices to NPCs or the Zombies Crew?
What if instead of a Pay-to-Win Cranked variant, we actually got a TMNT-themed map to explore – one that wouldn’t leave when the event was over?
“This is way too much of a good idea, they’ll never do it,” Reddit user NogaraCS writes.
Reddit user Ok-Ingenuity9833 pitches a series of collaboration ideas, from a Jurassic Park setting to Five Nights At Freddy’s.

However, our favorite from among the suggestions is definitely the Alien franchise – just imagine exploring a ship like the USCSS Nostromo, or even a large Weyland-Yutani research vessel.
“An actually good idea that would innovate the mode in a unique way? No shut up and take your reused wonder weapons and 5 amalgams per round,” another commenter agrees.
We can’t be sure how Call of Duty handles its licensing deals, and it’s possible that a permanent map would cost more to add than a temporary game mode or two. But with Activision Blizzard now being owned by Microsoft, why not take the chance to use one of the company’s existing IPs instead?
Why It May Never Happen
It’s possible that a Halo or Minecraft collab map isn’t what everyone would want from Call of Duty Zombies. After all, it’d likely have to offer a non-canon side story that doesn’t relate to the ongoing quest to rescue Samantha Maxis.
In addition, it’d require far more resources (and generate less immediate profit) than creating a series of $20 skins.
And judging by how many Ninja Turtles we’re seeing running about, Activision is making a killing with its current collaboration model.
Say what you like about the time Warzone featured Godzilla and King Kong in-game, that collaboration was truly memorable in a way that skin crossover events like Attack on Titan or Gundam just aren’t.

And the time that Die Hard’s Nakatomi Plaza came to the Battle Royale was more impactful than any of the occasions that Snoop Dogg turned up.
Ultimately, we don’t think this fan request will ever be one that Treyarch decides to act on, even though the developer has proven that it’s listening to players.
Instead, we shouldn’t expect much more than the ongoing TMNT crossover, which some players claim brought with it an ‘impossible’ new game mode.
