Manglers are one of the most complained about enemy types in Black Ops 6 Zombies, and players believe they need a number of changes for game balance.
If you’re someone who plays a lot of high-round Call of Duty Zombies, chances are you’ve noticed a few major issues with Manglers in Black Ops 6.
The special enemy type starts appearing shortly after Round 10 in the game’s Zombies maps, and initially doesn’t pose too much of a threat. However, as time goes on, the problem with Manglers becomes far easier to spot.
Manglers Need Changing in Black Ops 6 Zombies
The following are some of the issues we see most commonly brought up when the Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Zombies community discusses Manglers:
Spawn Rate
Although waves will only feature one or two Manglers initially, these special enemies spawn far too commonly when you get to later rounds.

We’ve personally seen three Manglers climbing out of a single window as we ran past it, and some high-round waves feel like they contain far too many of the cannon-wielding enemies.
Treyarch needs to take note and make some changes to the special zombie spawn rates soon, or risk Black Ops 6 Zombies being remembered as a special type of Mangler-filled hell.
Cannon Tracking
Manglers are known for their powerful arm cannons that serve as both their greatest weapon and their most obvious weak points.
While Manglers don’t deal too much damage with their cannon blasts initially, they can get overwhelming in later rounds. But even this wouldn’t be much of an issue, if the blast didn’t also track the player after firing.
The most frustrating part about fighting Manglers is that their cannon shots will move to track you, even once you’ve dodged the initial shot. We’ve even had Mangler blasts follow us around corners slightly, in areas where we thought we were safe behind cover.
And when you’re in a high round and there’s little space to maneuver in the first place, you’re going to find yourself getting hit.
The Effect on Other Zombies
And it’s not just us that a Mangler cannon can hit – other undead are also affected by the blast.
This can be used to your advantage, offering quick escape routes when zombies are knocked down.

However, for those players who love to get large hordes of zombies following them, allowing for easy Critical Kills or multi-kills with Ammo Mods or equipment, a Mangler knocking down a section of that horde can prove frustrating.
Bullet Sponges
Finally, one of the most frustrating issues with Manglers is that they end up being bullet sponges at later Rounds.
Even with a Pack-a-Punch Tier 3 weapon, these armored enemies can end up soaking up a ton of damage before going down.
Players therefore need to rely on the Napalm Burst Ammo Mod just to target the Mangler’s weakness, rendering the other elemental ammo types useless.

Aiming for the head or the Mangler’s arm cannon are excellent weak spots, and the Dead Break Augment for Deadshot Daiquiri will also help shred armored enemies.
But when you’ve got five Manglers and little space to maneuver, the last thing you need is an enemy that refuses to die.
