Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Zombies can go back to farming Critical Kills with the Oil Trap method, as Treyarch reverts a recent change in Season 2 Reloaded.
The mid-season update for Black Ops 6 has arrived, and it brings with it the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, as well as a plethora of new and exciting in-game content.
But those looking forward to grinding camos for the mid-season’s new weapons may have found themselves disappointed – particularly if they’re a fan of farming on Citadelle des Morts.
After all, the Season 2 Reloaded update removed the ability to farm Critical Kills using one of the map’s traps. Now, Treyarch is already reverting the change, and bringing back the best camo farm in Black Ops 6 Zombies, allowing us to get back to business.
The Oil Trap Critical Kill Farm Returns
For those unaware, the first post-launch Zombies map, Citadelle des Morts, is known to have the best Critical Kill farm in Black Ops 6.
After using the Oil Trap near the Courtyard, players can ignite the spilled oil using a Molotov or the Caliburn Wonder Weapon.
Any undead that dies to flaming oil will count as Critical Kills for your held weapon, which allows players to blast through their camo challenges in no time.
In Season 2 Reloaded, players noted that Treyarch had seemingly fixed the exploit, which had been present in the game since Season 1’s launch.
An Unintentional Fix
However, it appears that the fix was unintentional, as the CODUpdates X account refers to it as one of the ‘known issues’ that the mid-season update launched alongside:
Now, the developer has confirmed that it has reverted the fix, allowing players to continue enjoying their easy grinding once again.
In a patch note from early January, the developer stated: “We know it’s not fun to see a “fix” multiple weeks later for something that wasn’t bothering you.”
It appears that Treyarch is happy to let players enjoy Black Ops 6 however they choose, so long as the exploit doesn’t get too out of hand.
The Season 2 Reloaded update also brought much-needed changes to Amalgam & Shock Mimics in Black Ops 6 Zombies, alleviating the issues posed by the annoying elite enemies.
But the update was by no means perfect, and players are already complaining that the new TMNT Zombies mode is Pay-to-Win!
