The Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Vault Edition comes with a BlackCell Battle Pass, but can it be used on Season 2 and beyond?
If you’re not picking up Black Ops 6 on release day, or you fancy upgrading to Vault Edition later down the line, will you still be able to take advantage of the BlackCell benefits?

Can You Use Vault Edition BlackCell on Season 2?
Yes, you will be able to redeem the BlackCell Battle Pass included in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6’s Vault Edition in Season 2 or beyond.
However, this option is usually only available to those who upgrade to or purchase the Vault Edition after Season 1 is over.
Reports from past Vault Edition buyers, such as those who purchased MW3’s most expensive variant, claim that BlackCell redeems automatically when you play during Season 1.
Therefore, players who own the Black Ops 6 Vault Edition on day one may be required to use their free BlackCell on the Season 1 pass instead.
However, if you join the game in Season 2 or beyond, you should be able to use the Vault Edition BlackCell on that season.
Reddit user SatanicPanicDisco confirms that they purchased MW3 Vault Edition with Season 3 and were still able to use their BlackCell benefit for the duration of the season. We’ve seen users over on Steam report the same thing.
Players should be careful not to purchase the Vault Edition close to the end of a season, otherwise your free Battle Pass might go to waste.
There’s Always a Catch
Users should also bear in mind that Activision tends to remove the ability to upgrade to the Vault Edition around the time of Season 2’s release.
The full $100 Vault Edition will remain available to purchase indefinitely, but it seems that the Call of Duty publisher doesn’t want users to be able to upgrade their base game later down the line.
