All players will be able to choose a Perk 1, 2, and 3 to add to their custom loadouts. However, those who use the Wildcard ‘Perk Greed’ will be able to add one additional Perk to the line-up.
This will come in particularly handy in Black Ops 6, as it’ll make it easier to activate a Combat Specialty – a new feature that we’ll get into below.
What Is Combat Specialty in Black Ops 6?
Combat Specialty is a new mechanic that gives players a buff when selecting three Perks from the same specialty.
Each Perk is designated one of three specialties:
- Enforcer (Red Perks)
- Recon (Blue Perks)
- Strategist (Green Perks)
If you equip three Perks of the same color, you’ll activate an additional bonus effect to match your playstyle:
- Enforcer: Killing enemies grants a temporary buff to movement speed and health regen rate.
- Recon: Enemies can be seen through walls for a short time after respawn. A HUD edge indicator flashes when an enemy is outside your view. Leave no death skulls when killing enemies.
- Strategist: Earn a score bonus for objectives and destroying enemy content. See enemy content through walls a short distance. Deploy equipment and Field Upgrades faster.
These extra buffs are so powerful that they’ll change the way many players build their loadouts.

For example, run-and-gun players who prefer getting up close with an SMG or shotgun might want to pick three Enforcer Perks, such as Scavenger, Assassin, and Double Time.
Then, not only will they get a boost to their chosen playstyle, but they’ll ALSO get the Enforcer Combat Specialty bonus every time they kill an enemy.
This is a major bonus, but not all players will want to take advantage of it. After all, if you feel like you need Ghost in your loadout, you’ll have to either sacrifice the Combat Specialty buff, or take the Perk Greed Wildcard to equip an additional Perk.
