According to a new report, Black Ops 6 will not be getting a major Warzone map in 2024, and the rumored Verdansk remake won’t be ready for some time.

One of the most exciting aspects of a new Call of Duty launch is seeing how the game affects Warzone.

Activision’s Battle Royale usually receives a new full-sized map, alongside major movement updates and a brand-new weapon pool.

However, fans shouldn’t expect the usual treatment this time around, as reports indicate that no new Warzone map is set to arrive in alongside Black Ops 6. And the bad news doesn’t stop there.

Will Black Ops 6 Have a New Warzone Map?

No, a new report indicates that no big Warzone map will be released alongside the Black Ops 6 launch or Season 1.

Instead, the leak claims that a remastered version of the original Battle Royale map, Verdansk, will arrive later in Black Ops 6’s life cycle.

This news comes from reputable leaker BobNetworkUK, and has since been verified by ‘multiple sources’ at CharlieIntel.

Of course, Activision has never confirmed that Verdansk will be returning alongside Black Ops 6.

However, given that a remake of the iconic Battle Royale map appeared in the MW3 Campaign, it seemed extremely likely that we’d see Verdansk make a welcome comeback.

For now, it appears that Warzone players will be staying in Urzikstan, the map that arrived alongside MW3’s launch. Reports indicate that the current BR map will receive gameplay and map updates in order to compensate for the lack of a new arena.

In addition, Warzone Ranked Play is allegedly set to debut alongside Black Ops 6 Season 1.

A New Resurgence Map

Also reportedly dropping during Black Ops 6’s lifespan is a new Resurgence map that is designed by Treyarch.

Although this new, smaller arena won’t arrive at launch either, the new map ‘Area 99’ will provide a new way for Warzone fans to experience a more chaotic, fast-paced Battle Royale experience.

But what’s particularly interesting is that neither report mentions Avalon, the new large map that Treyarch appears to be teasing heavily via in-game Easter eggs.

Could this mean that Avalon isn’t a full-scale Battle Royale experience and is instead a larger map for a Ground War-style mode?

Well, according to a new report from Insider Gaming, Avalon might not actually arrive in Black Ops 6’s lifespan at all! Instead, the site indicates that the plan for the nearly complete map is to launch in 2025 alongside the next COD title.

For now, we’ll have to wait and see!
