If you didn’t get to finish your Call of Duty grind over the weekend, Activision has now extended the Black Ops 6 Double XP event by an additional 48 hours.
Sony fans everywhere found themselves unable to play their digital libraries or access online multiplayer this weekend, after the PlayStation Network went down for around 24 hours on February 8, 2025.
Now, as services are restored, Activision is giving all those who missed out on Black Ops 6’s Double XP period another chance to continue their grind.
Black Ops 6 Double XP Extended
The Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Double XP event has been extended by 48 hours, and will now come to an end on Wednesday, February 12, 2025, at 10 AM PT / 1 PM ET / 5 PM BST.
The extended 2XP period will conclude in .
Originally, the Double XP event, which offers Double Player XP, Weapon XP, and GobbleGum drops, was set to end on February 10.
However, just moments from the time that the 2XP was set to disappear, Treyarch announced that it would be extending the event for an additional 48 hours.
The developer didn’t explicitly state that the change was made due to the PlayStation Network issues. On top of that, this isn’t the first time that a Double XP event has been extended.
However, we think that Treyarch’s wording implies that the team knows that a lot of players on PS4 & PS5 were prevented from taking part in the event.
On top of that, PlayStation Plus members will find that their subscriptions have now been extended an additional 5 days, as an apology from Sony for the downtime.
What’s interesting is that Call of Duty is now officially a Microsoft property, as Activision Blizzard is owned by the Xbox parent company. It’s possible that this is why the extension doesn’t explicitly mention PlayStation, but that’s only an assumption.
However, bonus Double XP is available for players on Xbox and PC too, so there’s really no need to speculate!
