The Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Beta has now concluded, and fans have a few thoughts to share regarding Treyarch’s new shooter.

We’re only weeks away from the official release of Black Ops 6 on October 25, and sadly there’s no early access to enjoy this year.

That is, aside from the Open Beta, which Treyarch reports was the biggest Call of Duty Beta of all time. Unfortunately, the Multiplayer trial has now ended, and we’re stuck waiting for release day to roll around.

But now that fans have had the chance to jump in and play, some are already sharing their thoughts on the latest Black Ops.

Biggest Fan Complaints With Black Ops 6

Call of Duty fans are sharing their takes on Black Ops 6 across social media – here’s what the most vocal members of the community have to say:

Feels Like Modern Warfare

One of the most prevalent complaints we’ve seen from fans is that Black Ops 6 feels too much like a Modern Warfare title.

This makes sense, given that this is the first Treyarch game to feature on Call of Duty’s new universal engine, but this change likely led to the developer’s usual ‘feel’ being missing.

Black Ops 6 Slide Warzone

“It tries too hard to be an MW game instead of the fun arcade shooter with super tight physics like every other Black Ops game,” Reddit user YibbityFIibbity writes.

The game certainly feels different from Cold War, but we’d say the biggest contributor to that is one of Black Ops 6’s newest mechanics…

Omnimovement Is Hard to Track

While Omnimovement is one of the most innovative features added to Call of Duty in some time, it’s certain to cause some teething problems in the early days.

Right now, a lot of fans are finding it hard to get used to sprinting and diving in any direction – and it’s arguably even harder to get used to fighting those who are already adjusting to the new movement.

Omnimovement may be cool, but if players can’t get used to countering it, it’s going to be a tough year for casual Multiplayer fans. And since Omnimovement is also coming to Warzone, Battle Royale players need to get used to it too!

Poor Respawns

We could have seen this complaint coming from a million miles away, as poor respawns are an integral part of every Call of Duty Beta.

As usual, Black Ops 6 received complaints about its spawn system placing users in the line of fire, or dropping respawning players directly behind enemies.

In Beta weekend 2, Treyarch made some tweaks to map spawns and the issue certainly seemed mitigated. However, that only applied to maps that had already been present in the early access Beta.

In the case of Babylon, a new map added in weekend 2, spawns were worse than ever.

Therefore, we anticipate that many maps that weren’t featured in the beta may feel a little less balanced when launch day arrives.

Unbalanced Weapons

Finally, while a Beta is never the best time for weapon balance, one gun appeared to be rising above the rest.

We’ve referring, of course, to the Jackal PDW which dominated Beta weekend 1 and was still a strong contender for the game’s best gun in the Open Beta.

With what seemed like most Beta players running this weapon, Treyarch certainly needs to find a better balance by October 25.

However, we don’t expect that the game’s weapon roster will be fully balanced by release day – and Treyarch will no doubt make further balancing tweaks in post-launch patches.

Sleeper Agent

Another popular complaint that we saw arise in the Open Beta was how strong the new Sleeper Agent Field Upgrade feels.

This new Black Ops 6 addition lets players disguise themselves as an enemy player, allowing them to get the drop on the opposing team.

It’s a fun concept, and easily countered by using select Perks, but some fans still don’t want the Field Upgrade in the game.

“Can someone explain to me why they thought adding a feature to turn the enemy into teammates was a good idea?” Reddit user xDefimate writes. “Since the speed is turned up to 11 you don’t have any time to react that they are not an actual teammate.”

We imagine that Sleeper Agent might see some tweaks when release day rolls around. After all, it’s easy enough to shoot your teammates to check they’re real in standard game modes, but in Hardcore where Friendly Fire is enabled, this could cause a major issue.

It’s important to note that these issues are all to be expected in a Beta. We’re certain Treyarch will be listening closely to feedback throughout the trial period though, so be sure to make your voices heard!
