When will Black Ops 4 servers go Live?
The game has still not been officially released and this is why the servers are currently down. Treyarch are likely to put the servers LIVE within the next 24 hours. It is not uncommon to see server issues on launch day, especially with the influx of players this year with Call of Duty Blackout Battle Royale being included.
Why are the Black Ops 4 servers down?
If the servers are down, please be patient and wait. Rest assured Activision and Treyarch have systems in place to detect this fast and will be working on it as soon as possible. As seen on previous Call of Duty Titles it is not uncommon for there to be server issues popping up sporadically or error messages appearing.
Black Ops 4 Reduce Lag / Server Tips
These tips have been known to work in previous Call of Duty server down situations. These won’t work all the time because sometimes there will be a serious issue which needs fixing on Treyarch’s side, however it is worth routinely trying these whilst servers are down.
- Restart your console (retry this periodically, when a fix goes live a restart is sometimes required to go straight back into a game).
- Restart your router
- Use a wired ethernet connection
- Check your connection speed
- Limit other bandwidth-heavy applications. This is important for all devices but it can be especially an issue for PS4. Playstation throttles the bandwidth when other updates or games are downloading in the background, this is more likely to cause lag than a critical error.

Connecting to online service – You are connecting to Online Services for the very first time and that may take longer than usual. This has been seen pre-launch when the servers are not yet live and the first time accessing the game.
