Best Weapons & Class for Control in Black Ops Cold War

Control made its return from Black Ops 4 in Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War. The gamemode requires strong defense and an even stronger offense to win.

Here are the best weapons and loadouts to use.

A weapon that is effective at all ranges is essential in control. There will be times when you are attacking or defending a position in close quarters. In other situations you will be fighting at longer distances to keep your advantage.

Control is all about staying alive and keeping control of a specific point on the map. There are only a limited number of respawns so you must be careful and play tactically.

These loadouts will help you do that.

2. XM4 - Assault Rifle

Assault Rifle Alpha, or the XM4, is a force to be reckoned with in control. It drops enemies like flies at medium to long distances and can hold its own in close quarters. This makes it a perfect weapon to use in control.

Each of the following attachments serves a unique purpose. Some of them negate each other's negative attributes to create a balanced experience. Others give you an extreme advantage in certain situations.

  • Barrel: 13.5" Task Force

The Microflex LED is reminiscent of the classic red dot sight and allows for a wide view when aiming down sights.

The infantry compensator and the field agent grip go hand in hand. The infantry compensator hurts the horizontal recoil control while the field agent grip benefits it, with a positive gain of 14 percent.

The field tape handle also greatly increase flinch resistance which will help you when controlling an objective in control.

Wild Card: Danger Close

Perks

Perks in control are essential to holding down or attacking an objective. Each one of the following perks will save your life at least once while playing the control gamemode.

  • Flak Jacket
  • Scavenger
  • Ghost

Flak Jacket is absolutely necessary in today's meta because of how powerful and useful it is while on an objective. It will most likely save your life each time someone tosses an explosive to clear the site.

Scavenger is also needed for this loadout because the 13.5" task force barrel limits you to only two magazines instead of three.

Ghost is good for when the enemy calls in a spy plane and you are one of the remaining people alive on your team.

XM4 complete loadout for control

Tactical, Lethal, and Field Upgrade

This loadout does not require the gunfighter wildcard, so you can use danger close, which gives you an extra tactical and lethal.

Having two of each grenade is ever so important for when you are either about to secure an objective or are defending one.

  • Field Upgrade: Trophy System

The trophy system is very important when defending an objective. There will be countless explosives thrown onto a site to clear it of people, so using this will limit that from happening.

1. AUG - Tactical Rifle

The AUG is such a powerful weapon when used to defend or attack an objective in control. Not only does the weapon have the ability to one-burst enemies, it also has great recoil control.

The following attachments will help you find tune this weapon to fit the control gamemode perfectly.

  • Body: Steady Aim Laser
  • Magazine: Salvo 54 RND Fast Mag
  • Handle: Field Tape

With these attachments, the AUG is quite the showstopper.

The Vulture Custom Zoom optic is one of the final attachments unlocked and has a 1x to 10x variable zoom. This allows you to use it up close and at very long distances.

The 18.2" Strike Team barrel is essential to the AUG because it increased the damage and fire rate by large margins.

With the 54 round fast magazine and 90 percent buff to flinch resistance from the field tape, this weapon turns into a laser beam.

Perks

The perks for this loadout are exactly the same as the previous XM4 loadout because the weapons are similar in play style.

Each one of these complement both the AUG and the XM4 perfectly and help keep you alive in important and clutch situations.

Tactical, Lethal, and Field Upgrade

Like the perks, the tactical, lethal, and field upgrades are the same as the XM4 loadout. You could interchange the stuns for a stimshot, but the stuns definitely benefit you slightly more.

The trophy system is a must when you are either attacking or defending an objective. It will keep you and your teammates alive just enough to capture or hold off an attack.
