You will also get Renown for completing several other side activities in Diablo 4. Here are the activities that give you Renown and how much you get from them:
- Areas Discovered – 5 Renown
- Altars of Lilith – 10 Renown
- Waypoints – 20 Renown
- Strongholds – 100 Renown
Waypoints and Strongholds are the easiest to do and most beneficial. There are three Strongholds per region, and liberating all 15 of them will get you 1500 Renown.
Additionally, there are 35 Waypoints to find, which is another 700 Renown for discovering all of them.

Alternatively, you can find all 160 Altars of Lilith for 1600 Renown or complete the 117 dungeons in Diablo 4 for 2340 Renown.
However, these take far longer to find and complete than the Strongholds and Waypoints and are therefore not worth the time nor the effort.
Best Tips for Farming Renown in Diablo 4
The best tips for farming Renown are as follows:
- Play on World Tier 1. This will make clearing dungeons and Strongholds significantly easier while still netting you the same rewards you’d get for playing on World Tiers 2, 3, and 4.
- Play in a group to use the split farming strategy. By playing in a group, you can help each other clear dungeons faster or even complete entirely different dungeons from one another and still receive the same rewards.
- If one player completes a dungeon, all other members of that party receive the rewards regardless of participation.
- Prioritize shorter dungeons, as they’ll take less time to complete for the same amount of Renown. Some good examples include:
- Mercy’s Reach
- Hoarfrost Demise
- Rimescar Cavern
