The latest Pokemon game is finally here, with players dropping into the Spain-inspired region of Paldea. And for the first time in the mainline series, you can explore the world at your own pace!

However, the first choice any budding Pokemon Trainer needs to make is their favorite starter. With three great Pokemon, which one is the best to pick?

There are some minor early-game spoilers ahead, as we'll be talking about the early Gyms in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. Turn back if you want a complete spoiler-free experience.

Which is The Best Starter in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet?

We believe the best starter in Scarlet & Violet is Fuecoco, as it provides the easiest start to the game thanks to the early Gyms.

According to leaks, the first three Gyms in the game are Bug, Grass, and Electric-type. This means Fuecoco is the best option to deal with these early-game Gyms.

We'll be spoiling the final evolutions of the starter Pokemon below, so turn back if you don't want to have it ruined for you.

As for each starter’s final evolution, Fuecoco becomes Skeledirge, a Fire/Ghost-type.

Spirigatito evolves into Meowscarada, a Grass/Dark-type Pokemon.

Finally, Quaxly evolves into Quaquaval, a Water/Fighting-type.
