Best Scorestreaks to Use in Black Ops Cold War Multiplayer

Still learning the new Black Ops Cold War Scorestreaks system? Here are the best rewards that you should be using.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War has a new Scorestreaks system that’s the cause of a great deal of discussion. Not only do Scorestreaks replace the traditional Killstreaks system, but they also carry over progress towards a streak reward between deaths.

This leads to a lot of players receiving Scorestreaks simply for playing, which not every Call of Duty player agrees with. Of course, you still have to rack up the score to earn yourself a reward.

But with Scorestreaks being more accessible than ever, you’re sure to earn at least a couple in most matches. So it’s important to make use of the best Scorestreaks in Cold War to ensure you’re making the most out of your score.

Best Scorestreaks in Black Ops Cold War

It’s important to note that Black Ops Cold War has many great Scorestreaks for players to use. Making your decision is entirely based on personal preferences, but the following Scorestreaks are certain to help you perform better in games.

Spy Plane – 1000 Points

One of the very best rewards in any Call of Duty title, the Spy Plane makes another appearance in Black Ops Cold War. This Scorestreak is very easy to earn, and yet it’s one of the most powerful tools in the game.

Your teammates will probably also be running Spy Plane, so you don’t necessarily need to. However, it’s always better to have too many than too few.

Spy Plane will reveal every enemy on the map, and it works for your entire team. However, those players using the Ghost Perk do get to hide from your radar, assuming that they stay moving.

Counter Spy Plane – 1200 Points

The Counter Spy Plane is painfully underutilized in Black Ops Cold War, despite it being an incredible Scorestreak. This is because the reward doesn’t have a drastic effect on your gameplay at all – but your enemies will hate it.

Using the Counter Spy Plane not only removes the advantage of enemy Spy Planes, but it also scrambles their minimaps entirely. Enjoy dominating the competition who were being over-reliant on their Spy Planes as they no longer know where to find you.

Cruise Missile – 2600 Points

Once you know how to use the Cruise Missile, you’re certain to rack up the kills with this Scorestreak. Three missiles are launched with this Scorestreak, despite you only controlling one.

Enemy targets will highlight as the missile falls, and hovering over them will dispatch your secondary projectiles. Finally, land your own missile for one last target, and you’ve secured a point all by yourself.

This Scorestreak takes a little longer to earn, but you’re almost certain to get the necessary score simply by playing the objective. As an added bonus, this Scorestreak works particularly well in objective modes.

War Machine – 3500 Points

One of Black Ops Cold War’s very best Scorestreaks, the War Machine puts you in control of an extremely powerful grenade launcher. Several pro players label the War Machine as the strongest Scorestreak in the game, and for a good reason.

Not only are you able to destroy enemies with powerful grenades, but you can also clear a point with ease. What’s more, kills with the War Machine actually count towards your next Scorestreak.

Be warned, however, you’re still only human and can be taken out just as easily as ever. Make sure to stay out of a sniper’s line of sight, or your Scorestreak could be over in no time.

Chopper Gunner – 6000 Points

Now that we’re reaching the higher side of the Scorestreaks list, these streaks aren’t guaranteed in a game unless you’re performing well. Because of this, the Chopper Gunner’s requirement of 6000 points is well worth the cost.

As a passenger in a nearby helicopter, you get to control a powerful minigun and shred your enemies to pieces. Watch out for those firing projectiles at you, as your chopper is far from indestructible.

However, the heavy firepower this Scorestreak puts out makes it a great weapon to have on your side – if you can get enough points to earn it.

Gunship – 10000 Points

There’s nothing better than a Gunship in the Black Ops Cold War Scorestreaks. As such, you’re certainly going to have to pay out quite the cost to earn one.

Using the Gunship puts you into the gunner seat of a close air support vehicle with spectacular firepower. You’ll be taking out enemies by the handful and be nigh unstoppable.

Get a Gunship in a Team Deathmatch gamemode, and you’ve all but secured your win. However, if you’re having trouble reaching 10000 points, consider swapping to the VTOL Escort for similar results.

Of course, if you find it difficult to earn the higher-end Scorestreaks in general, feel free to select your rewards from the lower end of the list instead. You can, after all, earn more frequent Scorestreaks like this, but bear in mind that each reward has a cooldown anyway.

Right now, players are already calling for a Black Ops Cold War objective score buff, after the game is shown clearly prioritizing kills. If you’re looking to earn score fast, the best way is currently by racking up a significant killstreak.

Earning these Scorestreaks will certainly help you work through your Cold War Dark Ops challenges too. To make sure you’re really making the most of your time in-game, it’s important to use the best weapon loadouts in Cold War.

With that in mind, head out there and earn some Scorestreaks!
