Best Marvel Snap Ongoing Deck for Every Pool

One of the most consistent ways to climb the Marvel Snap ranks is by using an Ongoing deck to overwhelm your opponent with high-power cards.

Ongoing cards in Marvel Snap have an ability that lasts throughout a match or until they are destroyed. A few cards also directly negate the effects of certain Ongoing cards.

Here are the best Ongoing decks in Marvel Snap to help you climb the ranks and earn Collection Levels.

What is Ongoing in Marvel Snap?

Ongoing is an ability that continuously affects the Marvel Snap board. The effects of Ongoing cards last until the match ends or they’re destroyed.

Some of the most consistent decks in Marvel Snap are built around different Ongoing cards like Iron Man, Onslaught, and Blue Marvel.

Their effects are incredibly effective in the Onslaught’s Citadel location since it doubles the impact of Ongoing cards.

They can be easily countered by cards that negate Ongoing effects like the Enchantress.

OnslaughtOnslaught67Ongoing: Double your other Ongoing effects at this location.

This is the best Marvel Snap Pool 1 Ongoing deck due to its versatility and consistency, giving players a starting hand that can help them build an early lead.

With this deck, you want to get as many cards on the board as possible early on. This allows you to use Ka-Zar, Blue Marvel, and Onslaught to the best of their abilities.

Ideally, you’d want those three cards in the same location to maximize their bonus. With these cards combined, one-cost cards can get up to +4 power.

If you pull Angela, then leave her in a location and try to add Ka-Zar, Blue Marvel, and Onslaught to that same location to get her the complete +6 for her ability.

If you don’t pull Onslaught, you can still damage with Ant-Man and Captain America on the board.

Once you’ve entered Pool 2, a few new cards can bring the best out of your Ongoing deck. The premise remains the same, load up your board with as many cards as you can early on.

With Ebony Maw now in your hand, you can close out a location with a strong seven-power card. Armor is critical due to how many other players are running Killmonger. Killmonger destroys all 1-cost cards on the board.

This can completely ruin your game, so it’s nice to have a card that can counter it.

Sandman can seal your victory by Turn 4. Due to how many cards you can play in Turns 1-3 and how you only need Blue Marvel and Spectrum in Turn 5 and 6, playing one card per turn won’t affect you.

Spectrum replaces Onslaught since you’ll be using many more cards with Ongoing abilities. This allows players to increase each card +2 for a huge Turn 6.

If you struggle with this deck, the new Zabu card for Savage Land may help you climb the ladder.

SpectrumSpectrum65On Reveal: Give your Ongoing cards +2 Power.

In Pool 3, you’ll find cards that truly make Ongoing one of the best abilities in Marvel Snap. Adding Wong and Mystique allows players to have a huge Turn 6 that can give their Ongoing cards up to +8.

Your first few moves will involve adding as many cards on the board as possible. On Turn 4, you want to place out Wong.

Once Wong is out, play Mystique at that same location, so she obtains Wong’s ability. With both of them on the location, it allows On Reveal abilities to happen four times.

Play Spectrum here to add +8 to all your cards. This is the ideal way to win, but if you don’t draw Wong or Mystique, you can still use Iron Man and Mojo to build up a lot of power.

With Quinjet, you can play a few cards earlier, but you need to be wary of an enemy Enchantress card. This can stop your Wong & Spectrum combo before the game can end.

If you’re considering playing your friends in Marvel Snap Battle Mode, this is one of the best decks to build.

Best Counters for Ongoing Cards

The best counter for any Ongoing deck is Enchantress. Her ability removes all Ongoing abilities at her location, which can completely derail an Ongoing deck.

Cosmo and Leech can also end a big play since Cosmo puts a stop to Spectrum, and Leech can also eliminate any abilities you were looking to plan on Turn 6.

Leader is another card that can quickly turn the tides against Ongoing decks. Its ability to copy any card your opponent player and add its own power can make all the difference.

If you’re struggling with Ongoing cards, it may be time to take up a Discard Deck due to how quickly players can build power and disrupt their opponents.
