Finding the right attachment combination to make the best Cold War M16 loadout can make you a one burst killing machine.
The M16 is another returning weapon to the Call of Duty franchise, and you might even remember it from Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare as the first assault rifle that's unlocked level 1.
Even then, it reigned supremed as the best assault rifle in that game's life cycle.
It's one burst kill potential at insane range, and its non-existence recoil made this weapon sit at the top of the food chain.
Remember your history or be doomed to repeat it.
None the less in this year's Call of Duty, the M16, along with the other burst weapons, boast the fastest time to kill of any rifle.
The M16 is accurate, and its 50 damage output means that it takes 3 shots to kill.
Yet this piece of American memorabilia shoots three-round bursts. This translates to one pull of the trigger, and your enemies will be smashing the respawn button.
The M16 excels at mid-range as well as long-range, and we have two loadouts for you to maximize its killing potential.
Best M16 Class In Cold War
These are the 5 best attachments to use with the M16 in Black Ops Cold War.
It is designed for whisper-quiet operations, to strike the enemy, fast, and disappear.
- Muzzle: Silencer
- Barrel: 20.5" Task Force
- Underbarrel: Field Agent Grip
- Handle: Airborne Elastic Wrap
- Stock: Raider Pad
20.5" Task Force Barrel
This class set up is all about being devasting at multiple ranges, and at the heart of this loadout is the 20.5" Task Force barrel.
With a handsome 14% damage boost, but this doesn't even reduce the number of shots it takes to kill. However, if there's ever a hurt enemy in our sight, not all three bullets need to connect. Allowing more room for error.
The 20.5" Task Force barrel offers a 50% boost to our effective damage range, increasing our one burst kill potential from 21.5 meters to 32.3 meters.
Something we want you to note is that one of the most important stats when it comes to any burst rifles is bullet velocity.
The bullet velocity is crucial when it comes to how fast bullets travel.
The faster the bullet velocity, the tighter the burst will be.
On the other hand, the slower the bullet velocity, the more spread out the bullets will be.
If we reduce the muzzle velocity to a screeching halt, the enemy will have more time to get out of the path the burst is traveling in. In turn causing you not to secure the kill, especially when targeting long-distance shots.
On the M16, the 20.5" Task Force barrel will boost out bullet velocity by 50%.
From the base, 616 meters per second to an astonishing 978.7 meters per second.
This barrel will make our bullets hit faster and harder.
On the same note, we don't recommend adding a silencer to a burst weapon as it seriously reduces the muzzle velocity. With the first offering having a 15% decrease and the second taking away 25% of the bullet velocity
However, if you are going to add a silencer, we strongly recommend using this barrel, and that's exactly what we are going to do with this class set up.
By adding the silencer keeping us off the radar, allowing us to operate in the dark. The silencer will be taking way the before stated 15% of our bullet velocity.
This barrel does come with some heavy downsides, a modest decrease to our horizontal recoil control, and a massive 20% decrease to the vertical recoil control.
Field Agent Grip
To remedy that, we are going to be using the Field Agent Grip.
The Field Agent Grip will fix our past transgression and make us right as rain with the recoil Gods.
With its massive boost of 40% to our horizontal recoil control and a minor boost to our vertical recoil control. In turn, making us true marksman whenever it comes to hitting targets at range.
Airborne Elastic Wrap
Moving to the back of the gun, we are going to be employing the Airborne Elastic Wrap with its massive 30% boost to our aim down sight time.
It offers the best in class whenever it comes to aim down sight speed reduction.
The Airborne Elastic Wrap also comes with a 90%reuction to flinch.
For those of you who don't know, Black Ops Cold War has a totally different flinch mechanic than we have seen in other Call of Duties.
In the past, whenever the player would get shot, it will result in the point of aim going up, causing the person to be less accurate due to being thrown off target.
In early entries, how hard the enemies would hit you would determine how much flinch would be perceived.
However, in Black Ops Cold War, flinch has been reduced to camera shake and some screen effects; nonetheless, no matter how insignificant it is, less of something bad is still a win in our book.
To wrap it all up, we will be using the Raider Stock for a whopping 30% boost to our sprint out time making our M16 as fast as possible.
It will also give us a 40% percent boost to our aim walking movent speed, allowing us to strafe back and forth and avoid enemy fire.
The Raider stock does come with one massive downside, that being a pretty significant decrease in hip-fire accuracy.
However, the M16, with its massive one burst kill potential and speedy handling stats it should be no problem keeping SMG player at bay!
This is a great overall set up, allowing you to take the fight to any range you might want. Either from close range to long-range.
The M16 has extremely clean iron sights, but we have a more appropriate loadout for long rage.

20.5" Match Grade Barrel
This class set up will be specifically curated for mid-range to long-range gunfights and at the heart of it is the 20.5" Match Grade Barrel.
This massive barrel will greatly improve our effective damage range by 100%, taking our range from 21.5 meters all the way up to 43.1 meters.
Unfortunately, the barrel will hurt our sprinting movement speed by 5%.
A suppressor is a must for any Warzone class with some minor exception. However, the M16 does not fall in that category.
Therefore to keep us off the radar, we will be using the Agency Suppressor.
This muzzle attachment will also increase our damage range the same way Modern Warfare's Monolithic Suppressor does.
On the other hand, it will hurt our aim walking steadiness, and it also comes with a minor hit to our aim down sight speed.
Field Agent Grip
To make our 3 round burst connect with our target is the Field Agent Grip for the same reason as the one listed on our previous loadout.
SWAT 5mw Laser Sight
Even though this class set up aims to challenge people from mid to long-range, we will inevitably need to clear a structure every now and again.
Therefore we will be using the SWAT 5mw Laser Sight.
Improving our hip-fire accuracy by 36%. In turn, putting the M16 on easy mode. Whenever we encounter an enemy at point-blank range, we can just hip fire it and secure the kill.
The SWAT 5mw Laser Sight does come with another 8% decrease to our aim down sight speed.
45 RND Mag
For close-range firefights, a fast mag is preferred as it allows you to get a reload off quicker.
However, at range not having enough bullets in the magazine and needing to reload can make the difference from securing the kill or the target getting away.
Therefore we will be opting out for the 45 RND Mag attachment.
The 45 RND Mag will increase our magazine capacity by 15 bullets, or 5 more 3 round burst meanwhile hurting our reload speed by 10%.
The M16 is a three-round burst rifle that boasts better accuracy than the AUG but a longer burst dealy.
Adding these attachments can make you into a marksman, two bursting people at any range.
In short, when you use this loadout, your team will thank you.
There you have it; two completely different classes for the M16.
Each of them is curated for both specific games whether that be the fast-paced action of Black Ops Cold War's multiplayer or the long-range firefights in Warzone and Rebirth Island.
