Best Buy Recent PS5 Restock Infuriates Its Total Tech Members

Best Buy just had a PS5 restock, but its Total Tech members are not so happy about it.

Some time ago Best Buy announced its Total Tech membership.

This membership works somewhat similarly to GameStop’s Pro membership. At least when it comes to current-gen console restocks early access.

Total Tech offers a considerable amount of perks for users in addition to early access for console drops.

Although, that raises its price tag to a hefty $199.99 a year.

Even at that price, many gamers eager to get a PS5 at Best Buy signed up for the Total Tech membership.

Some fans are less than happy about making that decision.

Best Buy Latest PS5 Restock Infuriates Total Tech Members

Today, Best Buy had a PS5 restock that left many Total Tech members alienated.

This restock was a regular PS5 drop, meaning that everyone had access to it.

Thus far, Best Buy had not confirmed if all its upcoming restocks were going to require a Total Tech membership for access.

This has left many fans infuriated, as they feel they are paying a considerable amount of money for access and Best Buy is still offering regular drops.

It makes sense that Best Buy wants to keep its general public happy.

Nonetheless, it is understandable to see some gamers frustrated, considering the high price tag they paid just for the chance of getting a PS5.

Furthermore, others pointed out that Best Buy still has pending orders to be fulfilled and it is still receiving additional orders.

Of course, this is not a new practice in the industry.

GameStop recently had a whole week of Halo Infinite Xbox Series X restocks for its Pro members.

This also did not end well for the retailer as many Pro members had issues during the restock.

Not gonna say

As someone who works there, this is not and was not an advertised benefit of the plan. There is membership pricing on some stuff and protection and support but no benefits for buying hard to get things ahead of others at this point. Hate to be the bearer of bad news guys but I’ve seen the paperwork and pamphlets and never heard of that.

@Not gonna say, they clearly advertised total tech as getting first crack at hard to get consoles. Was right in the advertisement

It's common practice for these total tech members to sign up, get a ps5, then cancel their subscription for a full refund. Don't kid yourself you're just trying to cheat the system and the system cheated you.
