These are the best Elden Ring builds for every attribute stat that players can use while on their journey to become Elden Lord.
There is really no right way to play Elden Ring.
You can spend hours exploring every cave and finishing all the major quests. Or you can navigate your way through all the mandatory bosses to quickly complete the story.
But either way, you’re going to want to test out all the different weapons and items you come across in Elden Ring.
You’ll soon realize that some weapons will become more potent with the correct items. It all depends on your playstyle.
Here are all the best Elden Ring builds for each attribute stat in the game.
Before you set out to hunt for items, make sure you have all the Sites of Grace unlocked! This will help locate things more quickly.
Best Build for Every Attribute Stat in Elden Ring
The best build in Elden Ring will depend on the following primary attribute stats:
- Strength
- Intelligence
- Arcane
- Faith
- Dexterity
We won’t be showing builds for the Vigor, Mind, and Endurance attribute since these stats are more of an overall foundation for your character’s resistance.
Here’s what we recommend when building a foundation for you’re building with these stats:
- Vigor
- Vigor is your HP. Level up your Vigor stat, and you will notice your health bar increase. Players looking to build Strength and Dexterity characters should also have a pretty decent amount of points invested into Vigor.
- Mind
- Mind influences how many Focus Points your build has. Focus Points are what players will need to use special weapon skills, Ashes of War, Spirit Ashes, and spells. The Mind attribute is as essential as your Vigor attribute for Intelligence and Faith builds.
- Endurance
- Endurance will directly affect your stamina and equip load limit. So players going for a heavy or speedy build will want to have their Endurance to at least 25 to 30. Magic builds will still need plenty of stamina to roll and cast spells, so don’t completely disregard Endurance.
These builds will be based on higher levels for Elden Ring’s endgame areas like the Consecrated Snowfield or Miquella’s Haligtree.
So if you can’t equip some items yet, then it’s worth keeping in mind to build towards it and implement some of their talismans and items into your playstyle early on.
For armor, we also will only recommend equipment with stat boosts because, for the most part, it depends on what sort of Elden Bling you’re looking for.
But there are some armor pieces with valuable skills.
Best Strength Build – Royal Knight Crusher

Strength builds in Elden Ring are often considered a challenge to master. Players will need to maximize their survivability. This means that a high Vigor stat is a must.
If you’re in the endgame areas with a Strength Build, you need at least 60 Vigor, or you’re going to be frustrated.
Like the Elden Beast, many endgame bosses have an assortment of AOE attacks waiting for you. So Vigor is non-negotiable. Players will also need plenty of Endurance since most of the items for Strength characters are heavy.
But unfortunately, you won’t be able to do it with strength alone. This build requires a minimum of 25 Faith sprinkled in it to provide some valuable boosts to your characters.
Following the 1.04 Update, Colossal weapons have received a much-needed buff! This means this build is stronger than ever.
It requires less stamina for each attack and their attack speed was also boosted a bit.
Royal Knight Crusher Build Weapons & Items

Here are the weapons that we recommend having equipped for this build:
- Giant Crusher, Greatsword, or a similar colossal weapon, with Royal Knight’s Resolve Ash of War and the Heavy affinity.
- Claw Seal
- Incantations:
- Golden Vow
- Flame Grant Me Strength
- Talismans:
- Radagon’s Sorseal
- This talisman will provide a stat boost to your Vigor, Endurance, Strength, and Dexterity attributes.
- Claw Talisman
- This talisman will provide a buff to your jumping attacks. You’ll notice that jump attacking is one of the best ways to fight with colossal weapons. Also, one of the most fun if you are dual-wielding.
- Great-Jar’s Arsenal
- This talisman will provide a substantial boost to your equipment load limit.
- Old Lord’s Talisman
- Allows Golden Vow and Flame Grant Me Strength to provide a boost for more extended periods.
- Radagon’s Sorseal

You will need to prioritize Strength, Vigor, and Endurance for this build. As long as Faith is at 25, you will be fine. But the rest of your points should be going into Strength, Endurance, and Vigor. With the most points going into Strength.
This class will require you to buff yourself often, but the payoff is worth it.
If you’re struggling with dodging some attacks, using the Ironjar Aromatic Perfume will turn you into literal steel. This will allow you to take most hits without even flinching. Incredibly useful for this build as well.

Best Intelligence Build – Frostbite Mage

The Frostbite Mage build heavily relies on the frost status effect to inflict enemies with large amounts of damage.
There are some potent frost abilities in Elden Ring, and when you’re up against most bosses, it can get pretty overwhelming.
Of course, there is the more straightforward Comet Azur Intelligence build which mainly uses the Cerulean Hidden Tear to negate FP usage, and Terra Magica, which boosts spells.
Build around this, and you can quickly defeat even Malenia, Sword of Miquella. But it is more viable when playing with others. If you miss it, it makes you susceptible to a lot of damage.
The Frost Mage build allows you to melt bosses in various ways. Most of your points will go into Intelligence and Mind for this build.
Following the 1.04 update, Adula’s Moonblade and Ranni’s Dark Moon both received a few changes.
Adula’s Moonblade now does less base damage but it hits more frequently. Ranni’s Dark Moon now requires less time to cast and is more potent.
Frostbite Mage Build Weapons & Items

Here are the armor & weapons that we recommend having equipped:
- Dark Moon Greatsword or Moonveil Katana
- It depends on whether you want to put points into Strength or Dexterity. The Dark Moon Greatsword requires 16 STR and the Moonveil Katana requires 18 DEX.
- The Dark Moon Greatsword functions a little better for this build due to its unique skill, Moonlight Greatsword. This allows it to imbue itself with moon energy that does frost damage and increases frost build-up. But it is heavier.
- Carian Regal Scepter
- Once it’s completely leveled up, it offers S scaling with INT, and it is one of the best overall staffs in Elden Ring.
- Sorceries
- Adula’s Moon Blade
- Ranni’s Dark Moon
- Snow Witch Hat
- Boosts frost damage.
- Talismans:
- Dragoncrest Greatshield Talisman
- Helps boost physical damage negation. You are a bit of a glass cannon as a mage, so this is very helpful.
- Graven Mass Talisman
- Provides a significant boost to the potency of your sorceries. This will help inflict frost more quickly on your enemies.
- Radagon’s Sorseal/ Marika’s Sorseal
- So Radagon’s Sorseal will help increase your STR, DEX, and Endurance. This means you won’t need to use too many points on those to equip some of the items.
- Marika’s Sorseal will increase your Mind, INT, FAI, and ARC. This can prove to be extremely useful when wanting to boost your FP.
- Godfrey Icon
- It raises the charged attack power of sorceries.
- Dragoncrest Greatshield Talisman
To obtain some of these items you’ll need to progress through Ranni’s quest!
For this build, players should start encounters using Ranni’s Dark Moon, which you can obtain by completing Chelona’s Rise.
This spell inflicts a lot of frost damage and lowers the enemy’s magic defense.

Best Arcane Build – Dragon Knight

The Dragon Knight build is exactly what you need if you’re looking to harness the power of dragon incantations.
There are plenty of dragons in Elden Ring. There are quite a few Dragon Incantations to choose from, so it would be a shame if there weren’t any viable builds for it.
To use almost any dragon-related item in the game, you will need Arcane. So despite this build having Incantations, most of the damaging ones will scale with Arcane rather than with Faith.
The first thing you’ll notice is that this build doesn’t rely on weapons too much.
But if you do feel off without a viable weapon to use, we recommend picking up a decent Polearm or Spear and adding the Spectral Lance Ash of War with an Occult Affinity.
This will allow your weapon to scale off Arcane and do damage at a distance. It’s also pretty fun to ride around a horse, poking everything.
You’ll want to mainly put your points into Arcane, Faith, and Mind for this build. 25 Faith should be enough to wield every Incantation used to buff yourself.
Vigor is always up to you. We recommend at least 40 Vigor and 25 Mind.
Check out our complete Ash of War Tier List for a look at other weapon skills and an in-depth look into affinities.
Dragon Knight Build Weapons & Items

Here are the armor & weapons that we recommend having equipped:
- Dragon Communion Seal
- Scales with Arcane so will boost the strength of your attacks.
- Incantations
- Flame, Grant Me Strength
- Provides a boost to fire incantations and physical attacks
- Golden Vow
- provides an attack and defense boost
- Agheel’s Flame
- Smarag’s Glinstone Breath
- Ekzykes’s Decay
- Giantsflame Take Thee
- Flame, Grant Me Strength
- Spear/Polearm with Spectral Lance and Occult affinity
- This isn’t a requirement for the class but can be implemented relatively quickly.
- Silver Tear Mask Helm
- It provides a boost to your Arcane stat by 8
- Talismans
- Radagon’s Sorseal/ Dragoncrest Greatshield
- This depends on how you want to play. If you’re going to be more of a glass cannon, then Radagon’s Sorseal is great. It will boost your stats immensely. Dragoncrest Greatshield will increase your physical damage negation if you want to take more punches.
- Faithful’s Canvas
- Helps boost the potency of Incantations.
- Godfrey Icon
- Always great to have when using charged skills or spells.
- Erdtree’s Favor +2
- Greatly increases your health, stamina, and equipment load limit.
- Radagon’s Sorseal/ Dragoncrest Greatshield
If you’re looking for more of a PVP build check out this incredibly OP Giantsflame build!
This is probably one of the most versatile builds on this list. Players can use a variety of Dragon Incantations to eviscerate their enemies. Or they can opt for the Giantsflame Take Thee to hit enemies from afar.
It is worth noting that players will want to have Golden Vow active as often as possible. It’ll boost your attack power.
When using Giantsflame Take Thee and Agheel’s Flame, players will want to have Flame, Grant Me Strength active.
Check out our Dragon Knight Faith Build guide for a complete breakdown of the character and how you can use it effectively to become Elden Lord.
Best Faith Build – Soul Paladin

This Soul Paladin Faith Build is meant to arm players with powerful Incantations while remaining a force to be reckoned with in close-quarter battles.
This makes it one of the best end game builds due to how unpredictable some of the last few bosses can be.
The Soul Paladin also regenerates Focus Points and Health by using the passive abilities of both the Sword of Milos and the Blasphemous Blade.
We recommend having the Blasphemous Blade on your right hand to take full advantage of its unique skill, Taker’s Flame.
When used in combination with Flame, Grant Me Strength can turn most enemies to ashes quickly.
With this build, you’ll want to focus most of your points on Faith, Mind, and Vigor. Get enough Endurance that you won’t be too heavy to roll well.
The Great-Jar’s Arsenal Talisman should help with this as well. You’ll also need at least DEX 19 and STR 22 to wield both the Sword of Milos and the Blasphemous Blade.
Since your Blasphemous Blade is in your right hand, you can use the Erdtree Seal on your left hand to use Incantations and maintain a constant flow of HP replenishment when defeating enemies.
We recommend using Golden Vow and Flame, Grant Me Strength as often as possible to ensure you are doing the most damage possible.
Following the 1.04 Update, there are a lot of Incantations that have received a powerful boost. Which makes the Soul Paladin one of the most viable builds on this list.
Soul Paladin Build Weapons & Items

- Sword of Milos
- Can replenish your FP as you defeat enemies.
- Blasphemous Blade
- It can replenish your HP as you defeat enemies, and its unique skill, Taker’s Flame, can be used to clear a room full of enemies.
- Erdtree Seal
- The best Seal in the game for Faith-based Incantations and builds. S scaling when +10.
- Incantations:
- Flame, Grant Me Strength
- Golden Vow
- Black Blade
- Giantsflame Take Thee
- Lightning Strike
- Pest Threads
- Talismans
- Shard of Alexander
- It dramatically boosts the attack power of skills, including Taker’s Flame.
- Dragoncrest Greatshield
- It can help you withstand more physical damage.
- Taker’s Cameo/Erdtree’s Favor +2
- Taker’s Cameo will allow you to restore more HP with each enemy. But if you’d rather have a set boost, then Erdtree’s Favor +2 will give you more health and stamina and raise your equipment load limit.
- Great-Jar’s Arsenal
- Boosts your equipment load limit to a great extent.
- Shard of Alexander
The Pest Threads launches homing spikes at enemies so this particular Incantation can really help for some longer-ranged fights. Here’s where you can find it!
Best Dexterity Build – Vampire Build

The Vampire Build might be the best build in Elden Ring at the moment.
It uses one of the best weapons in Elden Ring, the Rivers of Blood, to tear through most bosses while also replenishing HP to the player. It is undeniably one of the most OP builds in Elden Ring to this date.
The only drawback is that players will also need to spend a considerable amount of points on Arcane. Since Arcane will help improve the blood loss status effect and the Rivers of Blood Katana.
Players will want to have a decent amount of Vigor, Mind, and Endurance for this build.
Endurance will help keep stamina up, which means more consecutive attacks. Mind will help players keep using the Rivers of Blood unique skill frequently. Vigor is just to withstand some of the stronger boss attacks that players face.
Here’s where you can find the Rivers of Blood Katana to start using this build!
Vampire Build Weapons & Items

Here are the armor & weapons that we recommend having equipped:
- Rivers of Blood Katana (Right Hand) & Blasphemous Blade (Left Hand)
- These are your bread and butter for this build. With the Blasphemous Blade in your left hand, players will be able to use its life steal ability while primarily using the Rivers of Blood Katana to inflict damage on their enemies.
- White Mask Helm
- This helm raises your attack when you are near blood loss.
- Talismans
- Taker’s Cameo
- It will increase the amount of HP you obtain from defeating enemies.
- Godskin Swaddling Cloth
- Allows you to restore HP with successive hits.
- Millicent’s Prosthesis
- Boosts Dexterity and increases attack power with each successive hit.
- Lord of Blood’s Exultation
- Allows you to gain increased attack power when near blood loss.
- Taker’s Cameo
If you’re not quite sold on Rivers of Blood and want to try some other weapons then check some of the best dexterity weapons in Elden Ring!
These talismans are what genuinely take the Vampire Build and give it a massive boost to attack damage and health replenishment.
This build is all about not letting up on your opponents. The longer you maintain an attack, the stronger you will get. You don’t need to pause to heal up because by just attacking an enemy, you will heal.
A genuinely terrifying build.
