Battlefield V Surpasses Battlefield 2042 Player Count on Steam

Battlefield 2042’s rocky path continues, and now Battlefield V’s player count surpassed it on Steam.

EA and DICE are doing the best they can to address player concerns about Battlefield 2042. Unfortunately, some players are beyond frustrated with this title.

Recently, gamers voiced their belief that Battlefield 2042 should be a free-to-play game. After a rocky launch, Battlefield 2042 continued suffering from many issues.

Players constantly reported these problems and what they believed the game needed to improve upon, but EA has not addressed all of these observations.

Steam data shows that these problems have made gamers look for their Battlefield fix in previous entries in the saga.

Steam Data Shows Battlefield V Player Count Has Surpassed Battlefield 2042

According to data from SteamCharts, Battlefield V surpassed Battlefield 2042 player count in today’s traffic peak.

This situation is not surprising, considering the trend in Steam’s player base figures indicated Battlefield 5’s player count was set to overtake Battlefield 2042 after its poor launch.

One thing to remember is that this is a peak traffic reading. This means that for the day, the highest amount of players in Battlefield V at a determined time surpassed Battlefield 2042’s peak.

Battlefield 2042 still manages to sustain a much larger player base than Battlefield V. Nonetheless, this is an impressive feat, and it does reveal a lot about how players feel about the game.

The fact that Battlefield V can retain its player base even though there is a new entry in the series is a feat on its own.

But, this is not surprising considering how many complaints fans of the series have voiced against Battlefield 2042.

Battlefield 2042 Issues Anger its Player Base

Battlefield 2042 has fundamental issues that angered its player base. For instance, players hated Specialists, one of the core mechanics introduced in this title.

To make matters worse, players were not fond of the skins EA and DICE launched for these Specialists.

Aside from Specialists, some players stated they believe the maps have too much empty space, and the game’s overall performance improves with a lower player count.

EA and DICE seem to know this and announced a limited-time 64 player mode.

Although, for the reasons mentioned above, gamers want a permanent 64 player Conquest and Breakthrough mode in Battlefield 2042.

At this point, only time will tell if DICE and EA can turn this ship around.

Just a useless example of how to make a game.An anger inducing vomit of a game!

I describe 2042 as hot garbage water while playing bf5. I bought it for 128 players and what I would assume would be functional battlefield game. What I got was a pre-alpha with some neat concepts that should have been axed by focus group #1. Specialists are the worst idea for a "squad" game. Too many examples like that exist in this triple A title

I've already switched back to playing bf5,2042 feels like the groundwar game mode from cod mw than it does a battlefield game. It is just missing something that bf5 had that made it fun. I can't pinpoint exactly what is different, but I feel that the maps have a big part to do with it. The selection we have so far as just filled with huge open spaces devoid of any action and the close range areas are super basic and unfun. The specialists also seem tothrow off the balance of the game, there's no point in working as a squad because everyone can do everything. Some of these specialists were just made to piss people off, who thoght that it would be a good idea to give specialists sentry guns and and huge ass shields that are only used to slow down game play and make it incredibly annoying to attack objectives. Bf5 is one of the weaker battlefield titles but I'd rather play it than go back to the 1 active U.S server in bf1 and its leaps and bounds better than 2042 right now. I bet that this paragraph is pretty uncomprehensable but I have a strong opinion on this game and really hope it will improve and I can get a full $60 worth of a game

Playing 2042 gave me a refound love for BF1 and BF4, which in my opinion were the two last fun and playable BF games. Still love BF3 as my all time favorite.

I hope they keep these beta and free trial offers in the future so I can confirm to buy or not.

This game is a disgrace to the name Battlefield. An absolute number of steps backwards. I am happy for the free trial. It allowed me to confirm this is a console port and tries to be 3 other games instead of being a Battlefield game.
