New Battlefield 2042 details have been found within the Technical Playtest files, including weapon customization and more Hazard Zone information.
Despite one insider claiming Battlefield 2042’s Beta release date was delayed, the official game is set to release in just over two months’ time.
However, for Battlefield fans there is still much left to be discovered. In fact, so far many game details still remain a mystery.
Recently, lucky players were able to take part in the first Technical Playtest for the upcoming game, and with it, we were treated to the first actual gameplay of Battlefield 2042.
Now, thanks to new data-mined information from this playtest, we have more details regarding weapon customization and more exciting information on ‘Hazard Zone’, an as of yet unrevealed game mode.
Although we may know exactly when the Battlefield 2042 Beta release date is, thanks to a new leak, fans are desperate for more gameplay reveals.
Battlefield 2042 – Weapon Customization
Thanks to the efforts of Temporyal, an avid data-mining source, Battlefield 2042 weapon customization details have been uncovered.
But first, check out our guide on all confirmed weapons we know about so far in Battlefield 2042. Whilst data-mined info isn’t always accurate and can contain leftover or unused assets, it could likely be present in the game given how close we are to the game’s launch.
In a recent finding, Temporyal was able to locate LCMG customization options in the Technical Playtest files. Interestingly enough, there are findings for barrels, grips, magazines, sights & more.
There are some exciting reveals such as Subsonic Ammo and even an Armor-Piercing Grenade Launcher. Furthermore, players will be able to take advantage of the new Battlefield 2042 Weapon Attachment Switching system.

Battlefield 2042 – Hazard Zone
Alongside weapon customization info, there is also a wealth of information for Hazard Zone. Despite how little we know about the upcoming game mode, we do know that Hazard Zone will be free-to-play, thanks to leaked details.
For those that are out of the loop, Hazard Zone is rumored to be something to challenge the Battle Royale formula, something new and built from the ground up specifically for Battlefield 2042.
Interestingly, there are rumors that the game mode will be similar to Escape From Tarkov, which features an extraction mechanic.
Similarly, according to data-mined information “extraction streaks” will be an integral part of the experience. It could be the case that successful extractions grant bonuses such as tactical upgrades, increased XP, and perks to help you in the fight.
Although the question has been answered for whether you can make a Battle Royale in Battlefield 2042’s Portal Mode.
