Battlefield 2042 Recent Steam Reviews Reach ‘Overwhelmingly Negative’

The reception for Battlefield 2042 seems to be getting worse and worse – judging by the increasingly negative Steam reviews!

The launch of Battlefield 2042 was nothing short of a disaster. While the game had huge potential, a plethora of bugs, missing features, and some strange design choices led to a lot of discontent amongst fans of the series.

Even EA has now released a statement saying that it will listen to fan feedback to improve Battlefield 2042 in an attempt to win back fed-up players. However, this could be too late.

With the Battlefield 2042 player count so low that servers are empty, unhappy gamers continue to review the game poorly. Now, it has reached a new unwanted milestone of Steam reviews!

Battlefield 2042’s Recent Steam Reviews Reach ‘Overwhelmingly Negative’ Rating

It was only a couple of weeks ago that Battlefield 2042 reached 90,000 mostly negative reviews on Steam. Unfortunately for DICE, the reception is getting even worse on the PC games store.

Unhappy Battlefield fans have now picked up on the fact that the game’s recent Steam reviews have reached ‘overwhelmingly negative’ for the first time.

This means that the vast majority of the 10,000 most recent reviewers would not recommend that game at all.

However, this isn’t really a surprise for players who have been keeping up with DICE’s updates. Even if the developer is making major changes to Battlefield 2042’s maps, DICE has upset the fans with a few announcements recently.

In addition to Battlefield 2042 still not getting voice chat any time soon, fans are also upset with the lack of content updates.

In fact, the huge delay of Battlefield 2042 Season 1 is the main reason behind the uptick in negative reviews. It caused a new wave of refund requests so it makes sense that fans would write more negative reviews too.

Unfortunately, the free skin and bundle for Gold & Ultimate edition owners clearly wasn’t enough to keep them happy.

Hopefully, developer DICE can turn the game around but it’s no easy task. With Steam reviews of the game getting worse and fans becoming more disappointed every day, there’s no guarantee the game can still be a success.

Glad the servers are empty. I can easily level up my weapons and vehicles against bots now.
