Battlefield 2042 Players Frustrated With Plane & Helicopter Combat

Battlefield 2042 is the talk of the town for all the wrong reasons but how well do the air vehicles – planes and helicopters fare in the game?

It is well established that Battlefield 2042 did not live up to fans’ expectations. Many fans are losing interest in a game filled with glitches and bugs as the player count keeps dwindling.

One of the most talked-about features of this year’s Battlefield was the Portal game mode. However, Battlefield Portal mode is already in trouble just a couple of weeks after launch.

While the list of Battlefield 2042 issues is long, the players are now concerned about the aircraft combat in the game.

Battlefield 2042 Players Disappointed With Miserable Plane and Helicopter Combat

Battlefield 2042 fans are already demanding vehicle-less infantry maps for the game. And now it appears the vehicles, especially the planes and helicopters are a major source of concern.

Reddit user ‘BearShots’ took to Battlefield 2042’s subreddit to share their concerns regarding air combat. The user pointed to the fact that Battlefield 2042 is the first franchise title to not have flight stick compatibility.

Further, the missile warning system, when some player locks onto your plane or helicopter, is extremely annoying. The warning continues to beep for a prolonged period of time and doesn’t even indicate what direction a threat is coming from.

On top of that, there’s also no separate warning for Specialist Sundance’s grenades, which leads to some confusion.

The community was quick to come to an agreement with the post, sharing their own issues with the game’s UI. Many pointed out the ease with which Anti-Aircraft (AA) take down the planes and helicopters in the latest Battlefield title.

“Dice will never be able to balance gameplay when you have potentially 64 players with AA or recoiless, there needs to be some uniformity.”

“Bring back ECM for the gunner in the chopper along with the TV missile, and decrease the lock on range of AA and increase lock on time.”

Some players even make baseless claims that the Battlefield jets aren’t finished and were simply added as an afterthought to the game

With that said, players also wanted the ability to see the damage done to planes and helicopters in Battlefield 2042.

Keeping the issues in mind, many players review bombed Battlefield 2042 on Steam as well.

Whining pilots!! Hahahaha love it! If you are mad that means they fixed something!! I pray they never go back to those over powered aircraft days.

The aircraft sweats are pissed because they can't immediately dominate the entire game like they did in BF4. Now they can actually get shot down. Boo Hoo. Flying jets in circles and dropping bombs was too easy and is incredibly boring anyway. Either way doesn't matter. 2042 is a mess. Not buying the game. There's something wrong with how the game feels and plays. Too chaotic. Player numbers are already dropping.

What cry babies, for the last 2 battlefields aircraft have been way over powered and the game needs to get back to its infantry roots. I hope they do need the aircraft even more because I'm sick of all the fly guys thinking they are good at battlefield when all they do is go after kills and don't even play and objective.
